Therapeutic Phlebotomy...local Quest and Labcorp refuse to do it

Yes, I had the script too. After getting with the medical director, they finally agreed to do ty therapeutic phlebotomy. In fact, they actually had a therapeutic phlebotomy form so this was something the blood bank does. So it's done and I almost passed out. The lady said I turned as white as Casper so I had to eat, drink & stay a while before I could walk out.

UPDATE
Went to my local Blood Bank this A.M.
They had my therapeutic phlebotomy form on file.
Paid them $30.00.
They stuck my finger and checked my RBC.
Took my temp.
Took my BP.
Asked me 5 questions.
Put me in a recliner and stuck a needle in my arm.
Took a pint of blood out.
Took the needle out.
Gave me a nice Blood Bank tee shirt.
Sent me on my way.
... All in about a 1/2 hour....

congratulations :)

I had blood drawn at a red cross blood drive and it was no problem, filled out the normal paper work they did the finger prick seen my hematocrit was high, asked if I was there on Drs. orders and drew it, no problems.

I had donated on 19 Sep (HCT ~ 56). On 30 Oct (6 weeks later) my HCT was 53. It might seem I was able to drive down my HCT 3-4 points.

I donated again on 7 Nov. I don't have a test result after that latest donation. I am eligible to give again on 9 Jan 16 and will CBC two weeks after that.

It's the same process to donate and you can do that for FREE...assuming one is eligible to donate.

Casual observation now having donated 1Pint three times, every 56 days, I don't feel a lick of anything different. I don't feel better, or worse. Will have a CBC among other in two weeks.
