where to go. no insurance.

I heard a lot from defy. i heard a lot from other places. have visited countless endos and 2 uros.
I don't have insurance, but im willing to travel even if it takes all my money. i just want a good endo that actually knows atleast what shbg is and that tests e2 for men to and not only women.
Could mayo clinic help? anyone got any good reviews from them? yeah finding a good endo is all about luck, but thats why im posting. i want to see if someone knows a good one.
i would like to see the doctor in person.
i'm young. i have pituitary and problems down there too. I have high acth, high cortisol, somewhat high prolactin, low lh and fsh BUT i had problems with a lot of sexual stuff (low libido, erection, almost to no hair, etc) since i was young. no doctor knows what i currently have. and I'm willing to go to doctors that knows how to really deal with cases like these (somewhat primary/secundary hypogonadism, possible hyperthyroidism, possible cushing disease, high ast and alt that might be causing extremely high shbg of 78+ and e2 of 10 causing me nightmare) im only 24. any advice?

Endocrinologists are the worst doctors to see because they are constrained by hospital administration. Go see Defymedical. com They specialise in hormones and all HRT and have far more expertise then the average endo does. Read more on HRT forums and you will learn this. I'm hypopituitary and all endos I went to were hopeless. It wasn't until I saw a good HRT doctor (read private) that they figured out what was wrong and why and put me on HRT and now I have a relatively normal life again.

To me it's not that endocrinologists are poor doctors, it's that all doctors that take and depend on insurance are constrained by this. They aren't really in the business of optimizing health.

But if you have a more serious condition recognized by the medical community, I think you get good treatment.

IMO testosterone clinics have their own set of limitations. They tend to deal with healthy men that for one reason or another have substandard suboptimal testosterone. They are more in the genre of anti-aging clinics. As an example, if you have a pituitary tumor, you can't go to them for surgery. I can't say how well they deal with people with unusual problems, but that is my guess.

I went to a good urologist who does not take insurance, Dr. Craig Niederberger in chicago, At least he wrote of few books and in them I know he used Clomid and likely I could go to him for TRT, BUT he mainly deals with Male infertility and andrology issues. And since he doesn't take insurance, likely it would end up more costly than Defy medical.

If you have an unusual problem, you might have better luck looking for endocrinologists /doctors attached to universities or teaching hospitals. BUT I don't have any recommendations.

Just my two bits on the subject.
