Whats the ideal interval between TRT injections?

My doctor is willing to write my Depo Test RX for a lower dose twice per week, likely every 5 days to coincide with another IV medicaiton I take unlrelated to hypogandism which would be easier to remember and perhaps help with peaks/lows. She asked if there is a peer reviewed reference for this approach before doing so. Does anyone have a citation?

Most men on TTh are injecting 100-200 mg T/week whether once weekly or split into more frequent injections as in twice-weekly (every 3.5 days), M/W/F, EOD or daily.

The majority of men can easily achieve a healthy/high trough FT injecting 100-150 mg T/week especially when split into more frequent injections.

Yes there are those outliers who will need the higher-end dose 200 mg/week but it is far from common as in rare.

Some men can achieve robust levels injecting <100 mg T/week especially when split into more frequent injections.

There is no ideal injection frequency as it comes down to the individual.

Trial and error.

The main difference here when injecting once weekly is there will be a big difference between the peak--->trough especially when injecting strictly IM and blood levels will not be as stable throughout the week.

For some this can easily have a negative impact on mood, energy, libido, erectile function and recovery.

Others tend to enjoy the rollercoaster effect.

Splitting the weekly dose and injecting more frequently will clip the peak--->trough and blood levels will be more stable throughout the week.

Due to the PK of TC you can easily get away with injecting once every 5 days.

What is critical here is using a high enough dose which will allow you to achieve a healthy trough FT!

Even then you re still going to see a big difference between peak--->trough.

You would most likely fare better injecting twice-weekly.

Do what you feel is best for you!

Daily subcutaneous injections are best from the standpoint of least likely to cause undesirable side effects. It is the large fluctuations in testosterone levels due to infrequent injections that cause excess estrogen and other issues. With infrequent injections, your testosterone levels on labs depend on when you do the labs, whereas on daily shots you can take the labs on any day and the levels will be the same. The best spots to do subq shots to avoid the notorious nodules (especially in the abdominal area), is in the buttocks. Simply make a cross on each butt cheek dividing it into 4 areas, giving you 8 different spots to inject. Alternate butt cheeks every day, so, day 1 left cheek top left quadrant, day 2 right cheek top left quadrant, day 3 left cheek bottom left quadrant...etc. This way you will revisit each quadrant every 8 days. I inject using a 30 gauge 1/2 inch insulin syringe. I draw 1 week's worth of syringes every Sunday, stored in a dark container (no light), so injecting every day is quick. After injecting, leave the syringe in place for 10 seconds before withdrawal to avoid leakage from the injection site. Following is a video I recently came across by Dr. Todd Lee discussing in detail why he likes daily shots and how he administers HRT to his patients:

I hope this helps.
