Ok folks, here is the deal. I have had low t since 22. I started treatment almost 2 years ago, I am 35 now. I have gotten some benefits like fat loss, better cholesterol numbers, and no night sweats, but other than that not one thing. My libido is shot, low energy, just feel terrible. I had better libido when I had low t. I have been through five doctors. Currently with defy. But nobody can get me straight. To feel ok, I have to tank my e levels. Which is not good. I am just about ready to quit and do the best I can.i thought I might give dr. Gaines a try, but I called and before committing 1000 bucks to go down there, I thought maybe I could get a message to him to see if he has seen anybody like me. All I got was a big sales pitch. If you were in my shoes, 35, divorced, kids to feed, no insurance nor any hope of getting any. What would you do? I am so tired of feeling so bad. The first three weeks of trt were amazing. After that, it has been downhill. I feel like I should quit wasting money and live with it. I need some advice. Thanks in advance.

If I were in your "shoes", I wouldn't put all my faith into testosterone as the "be all - fix all" for all of your issues. It is no doubt a 'key' variable with achieving good wellness, but there are so many other factors that can play into this.

If you can post ALL your lab work, you will get some solid comments and opinions to help give some additional insight. There could be a litany of things from adrenal and thyroid issues, and various deficiencies and/or imbalances associated with your profile.

It starts with labs, so if you have them let's start there.

Chris, I agree, there are certainly untreated thyroid and adrenal issues, I have a appt with my primary today. 300 bucks to see the pa. I am going to ask why when one drug does not work, as in treating adrenal fatigue, she does not try anything else. I have no insurance, and since I cannot afford the new, she has been non responsive since the new year. I will see if I can post labs, but my adrenals are shot. Thyroid needs treating. Thin that makes it hard is follow up bloodwork. You can easily spend a grand. I do not have it. We are in a time where working middle class are in the middle worse than ever, can't afford to get assistance and can't get coverage. If you are rich or dirt poor, you are set. Sorry for the political rant, but it really has me in a bind. Chris, since I cannot take hc nor florinef for adrenals, what would you suggest. I had good success on dethmeaxsone on time. I was given it for some respiratory stuff and I felt great until I got off of it.

I use isocort which is a plant based cortisol extract. Small dose in the morning to bring up my am cortisol and then a tiny dose at night to nudge my levels that were too low there. Seems to have really helped me although I am not sure if Chris or anyone has better ideas for it.

My doctor also swears by himalayan salt. about 1/2 -1 tsp in water upon awakening and as needed. I have been doing that and I think it helps as well. I think that is covered on SSTM as well.

If I recall correctly, you recently posted you have just figured out that you have sleep apnea. You need to be patient and work on the sleep apnea. Find a mask that is comfortable and give it time. By the time they found my sleep apnea all of my organs had begun to shut down and I was on death's doorstep. All of my numbers were off, I was in and out of the hospital, and I could barely get out of bed. You WILL NOT feel good if you are not sleeping. The only medications that can make you feel better at this point are stimulants and that's a vicious cycle. Keep working on the sleep and allow yourself some time. All the T, HCG, Anastozole.....in the world is not going to help if you aren't sleeping. If you opt for stimulants for some short term relief make sure you take a day or two each week to get off of them and methylphenidate is a pretty good choice. I have been where you are and personally know several others that have too. It's horrible and debilitating but w/ time it will get better. Gl I hope this helps.
