Hemorrhoids run in my family. I was so happy that I thought I was exempt from them but today I am one more with the problem! I guess 57 years of age is the magic age!

Any insights from members beyond Preparation- H?

This works well for me, but the biggest improvements came from probiotics. My wife makes kefir from goat milk that we get from our own goats. Six ounces every morning and evening with my supplements cleared up years of using witch hazel and epsom salt baths.

Anything for venous insufficiency/varicose venis will work for hemorrhoids: the referenced above Diosmin/Hesperidin combo is well known in Europe (Amazon sells it) or Pycnogenol, Grapeseed extract, Rutin etc.

I had a hemorrhoid 10 years ago and was in Eastern Europe so I tried many products over the counter there. The only one that helped were Diosmin tablets.

The problem is these natural extracts come with side effects: Diosmin irritates my intestines and leads to persistent nausea. There is also a high possibility for interacting with drugs.

Diosmin comes also in the form of a topical cream for varicose veins that I currently use from time to time.
