Urologist prior to TRT?

How many of you older guys (40-45) have visited a Urologist prior to beginning trt? Is it recommended or unnecessary?

A urologist isn't necessary, but a baseline PSA is most important.

Got checked and the doc said my psa test was 'rock solid'. My more serious concern is hair loss. I started losing at 27 and have done ok with Finasteride and Rogaine Foam but I believe that's what crashed my T levels and given me the associated side effects. I'll head over to the appropriate thread to look for more answers there.

I do go to my primary every year and get my wellness exam, but I do see more doctors than just my primary.
