TRT without AI

Was just curious how many of us are on TRT without the need for an AI? If so, what are you're numbers? Would be especially good to hear from anyone who's E2 is "high" but feels fine?

It seems we all get obsessed about numbers, particularly when it comes to E2 but I'm seeing some anecdotal evidence that guys are feeling pretty good with higher than "optimal" levels.

We are obsessed with the numbers because we think the higher number means that we will feel better, often less is more for some guys.

He's asking about how many members do not need to use an AI and still feel good even though they have I have higher estrogen levels.

Never taken an AI. My test sits at or just above 1000. E2 is between 31 and 33. There are a number of men, some of whom I hope will respond, who run their estradiol into the 40s with no problems.

Spot on, my E2 numbers have always been high and have always taken an AI as a result but never felt the benefits of TRT after 8 months so I've stopped. Low T symptoms slowly coming back and I'm wondering if I shouldn't have tried just T and gone by how I felt, not labs, especially as here in the UK we don't have access to the sensitive E2 test.

Would like to hear from guys that are on T solo, with higher E2 numbers than is "optimal" but feel the benefits.

I haved used an AI for almost 2 years but I recently dropped my dosage to 110mg of testosterone cypionate a week and I was able to drop the anastrozole. If my estradiol gets too close to 30 i get gyno so i have to be careful.
I am taking DIM + Calcium D glucarate + zinc. Maybe that helps too

What is your current protocol and recent lab results?

What is your current protocol and recent lab results?

I stopped everything cold turkey 7 weeks ago and have been feeling except the last couple weeks. Protocol:
300iu HCG EOD
0.25mg Anastrozole EOD
125mg Sustanon 250 E7D

Results:

Testosterone: 32.8 nmol/L (8 - 26.1)
SHGB: 26.6 nmol/L (14.6 - 94.6)
Calc Free Test 0.817 nmol/L (0.174 - 0.729)
Oestradiol 156 pmol/L (0 - 145)

I have other threads on the topic. Just wanted to hear from guys who are doing well on T alone despite high E2 results

I would try to lower the dosage. I did that and i am feeling great. No longer chasing numbers

JWal,

I don’t have exact numbers but I would say that I am someone who has had E2 sensitive high out of range and has still felt some benefit from TRT. Note however that at the same time I also had FT at the range max or slightly above range max. I’m still trying to get dialed in though so in terms of the big picture, the jury is still out.

Weekly dose ~ 90 mg
Total T in trough - ~ 670
Injections every 3 days
Sensitive E2 - between 36 and 40
No AI
Seem to feel fine. Not sure if I would feel better or worse if number changed. I feel better than I did before starting TRT.

I was put on an AI when I switched to Defy. I took two pills and stopped taking them because it was causing my throat to close up or at least that was the feeling I got and I got a severe twitch on my upper left forehead. I feel great without it and so far my E2 is in check.

Thanks for sharing your stories, it's good to hear most of you are getting on pretty good with treatment. Could use some advice:

I've got 3 options:

1. Accept my poor natty levels and be medication free
2. Try to lower E2 with AI monotherapy
3. Get back on TRT with a better protocol (start with just low-dose T and work from there)

There are a few benefits to higher T which I miss - good quality sleep, no panic attacks, more muscle definition etc but I'm not sure if I'm actually producing enough T and just converting it to E or if my natty T just isn't high enough in the first place?

Would like to hear what you guys would do in my shoes?

My total T is just above 1,000 and free T at about 21. My E2 runs at 42 and I feel great. No issues whatsoever. I don't take an AI. My SHBG sits around 52 though.

Has anyone here ever used Estro DIM to help with the slightly higher E2? I'm pretty sure it is not as effective as an AI drug, but I wonder if it might help just a bit. I understand this supplement claims to also help free up T. My E2 is at 42 and I feel just fine without any side effects, and not taking an AI, but I can't stop thinking about if I should bring it down a tad to make sure I have a better threshold window just in case.

You have no symptoms, what are you trying to fix here?
