Ok folks as the title refelcts I am having issuses starting TRT again due to a shaky start. My Total T has been running around 480-500 and my free T 5.9-6.9. The best it has ever been was back in 2007 when I was injecting 200mg cyponate twice monthly. My total T was over 700 and my free was above 2.0. Felt great. My doctor at the time dropped my dosage back to 50mg/.5cc injectable and my total t tanked to a low of 230. I backed off of using T to any real degree but I feel like crap.
With all of that said I am seeing an Endo now who has perscribed me Axiron, 30mg daily. She is treating me for low free T as she is concerned about bone loss over time. I approched her about the use of HCG along with the Axiron-she would not touch it. She says that HCG is used for fertility issues and is not necessary. I see various opinions on EXCELMALE and I tend to believe that it would be benificial to add HCG. Though I have had a vysectomy and do not plan on anymore children at my age (54) I am concerned about testicular shrikage over time and the possibility of keeping them alive if i were to have to stop TRT.
I have read in one of Nelsons articles that Gels will raise DHT and this is also a concern as it affects prostate issues.
I know that TRT offers a better quality of life but I want to do it right this time. While using my insurance to pay for my T, is there a way that a guy can add HCG at some point even if his DOc says no. I do my own bloodwork most of the time as I leave nothing to chance.
As always I appreciate your input and thanks again for a great site.
