TRT declining?

Seems over the last couple years that men seeking out and being treated with trt has sharply declined. The last couple physicians I’ve had have stated the number of men requesting testing or treatment is only a fraction of what it was a few years back. Could it be that men are trying to take better care of themselves, the scares prompted by the FDA or the fact that a large percentage of men just simply don’t do well on trt? It’s like women’s HRT has all but died over the last few years. I’ve been at this nearly a decade now and finally feel ok by doing test only at a small dose. The majority of the time prior to now has been an uphill battle. It seems a good number of men don’t tolerate the ancillary drugs which in me caused a plethora of side effects each and every time I tried them. People always compare trt to treating diabetes or other deficiencies, but it just simply doesn’t work that way for most guys. I think the future of TRT in general depends on pioneers in the medical field coming up with different ways to treat than what exists. I’m by no means trying to start an argument, nor am I bashing TRT but there has to be better ways of treating a testosterone deficiency than what’s available now. Hopefully someone will do just that in the near future.

I think we will continue to see more progress in the knowledge of the interactions between hormones, neurotransmitters, and genetics that will help this field in the future. Its actually a young science and if we were here in 100 years everybody would look back and laugh at what we re doing today. The problem I see in the current system is that unless some pharmaceutical company stands to gain a shitload of money there isn't as much initiative to throw money at the research.

Why Are Older Men Bailing Out on Testosterone Therapy?
...
Following an earlier surge in testosterone treatment spurred by heavy marketing, doctors today are writing fewer testosterone prescriptions.

In 2013, a study encompassing insurance prescription data on more than 10 million men ages 40 and older from 2001 to 2011 was published in JAMA Internal Medicine. Over that decade, androgen replacement therapy – testosterone prescribed in the form of topical gels, skin patches, pills and injections – more than tripled.
Then the trend reversed. Testosterone prescriptions for U.S. men ages 30 and older decreased by 48 percent overall from 2013 to 2016, according to findings published July 10, 2018, in JAMA after researchers revisited the database.
In the five-year period between studies, findings on possible heart attack and stroke risksfrom testosterone treatment appeared in several high-impact medical journals. In October 2016, the Food and Drug Administration approved changes to testosterone labeling to highlight the potential for heart-related side effects and mental health/abuse risks of testosterone products.

From what we see it still seems to be a combination of things, along with the fact that there just aren't many doctors honestly that can truly optimize a guy from all angles.
There's so much that goes into each patient and treatment has to be individualized.
I still see way too much streamlining and inadequate/impartial treatment.
The top docs are still busy as can be.

Hopefully it doesn't get to the point that the government makes it difficult to get medications. As we know, whenever government gets involved everything gets screwed up! The reason I say this is, there's obviously an all out war on masculinity worldwide, which is really sad.
