Thinking about starting trt

While many people on trt, doing the conversion to ng/dl are lower than I am.
Some measurement methods produce units that are not convertible to ng/dl. For example the direct assay method. If you dont have the latest most accurate free t measuring like in my case, the calculated free t from total t, shbg and albumin will be good enough. The problem is you dont have shbg as well.
With the little values you have - basically total t and some flawed free t at the bottom of the range most likely you will respond positive to TRT. The question is what else you will need to optimize after that to get most out of trt

Ya I know, my next appointment with truebalance is Nov 22nd I'm sure they will put me on testosterone, but the problem is they prescribe anastrozol and I don't want that.
I hope I can get into see the Endo before that time but I'm guessing it will be a 6month wait if not longer lol.
Anyways I figured out that my conversions of pmol to ng/dl was inaccurate I wasn't using the proper hormone and it changes with each hormone I guess. So when I did the proper conversion I'm sitting at 8ng/dl free testosterone.

I spent the better part of a month at 266 and 276 on two separate tests and it wasn't pleasant in the least.
Was that your total T or free T? my total T is still in the 400s but my Free T is 278pmol which I figured it out as 8ng/dl.

Are you back on trt again? I remember you saying you got off for quite a while.

Also is it really necessary to donate blood every 3 months on trt?

My free t was also 8-9ng/dl when I started TRT. I know a bunch of men likeme who started with similar values and benefit a lot from raising it to the 25-35 range and the total t to 1200-1300.
So why you dont contact a competent clinic that does HRT? You live in USA or Canada, right? A lot of them there do telemedicine

I'm from Canada and here in Alberta finding a good doctor is like finding a needle in a haystack. most docs won't prescribe it to me at all and the doc that I have now is sending me to an Endocrinologist and I'm really hoping that I know less than he/she does.
I've heard of alot of endos around here prescribing T every 2-4 weeks and thats unacceptable.

In the mean time I've found a naturopathic clinic that will prescribe it but of course they're really not specialists if they prescribe anastrozol and only check free T and nothing else such as total or shbg.

Without a well trained doctor trt could be a disaster for me.

I think there is only 1 telemedicine clinic in canada and they already declined me by saying my levels were in the "normal range" an online clinic called ONMEN.

Why dont you check the clinic Derek from moreplatesmoredates on youtube is affiliating? Ive heard good things for it from its customers. He is from Canada as well. I think its called Marek Health or somsthing like that.

I havent looked into Canada to be honest, Ive heard recommendations that I dont remember. I can recommend 2-3 clinics in the USA knowing they would do a good job. Also I have another recommendation I can make for you, but please email me for more details over it [email protected].

I know how screwed it is to not have a proper TRT provider around. Find on the world map Bulgaria, where I live and try to guess how many competent providers there are in the 2000km radius

Unfortunately they are based in the US, I looked into that a month ago. In there FAQs they say they don't deal with anyone outside the US. I really hope that will change in the near future. Because Canada needs a few good trt clinics.

I could imagine in Bulgaria there are anywhere from 0-1 competent providers? Lol. It's crazy how hard it is to find, it's a shame honestly.

That was my Total T, Free T wasn't test, but SHBG was 12.

I'm back on TRT since 2019, on Jatenzo now and doing very well. My A1C dropped from 11->7% in 3 months and is continuing to drop.

Any body have opinions on pt-141 ? It was just suggested to me. It's a peptide, aphrodisiac libido enhancer?
I've been on TRT for 7 years. My T levels are in the mid normal range. I've had it higher than the top of the range. It never did anything for my libido. There are obviously other factors at play.

A lot of guys want to hop on the TRT train to get more muscular gains in the gym or they want to have the raging libido of a teenager. I can tell you it is not the end-all cure-all male solution.

I am currently 73 years old. Getting one's T level to a normal healthy range is essential for our body to function well. This is true for all our hormones. Bringing my T level back to a healthy level improved my focus and concentration. It also helped in maintaining muscle mass. I also don't have aches, pains and stiffness as others my age have. I also have been working out for 47 years. I'm sure this helped. For me, normalizing my T level allowed my body to function closer to when I was young.

you are to young to begin TRT, it will shut down your natural production. Instead go to Vitamin Store or GNC and get some good test boosters, what ever the dose on the bottle double it. if ED is an issue get 5mg cialis and take it every day, when planning sex take 10 mg 30 minutes before. At your age, you just need a kick and the t boosters should do it.

This is nonsense, if there’s a medical need for TRT, and TRT resolves symptoms, it shouldn’t be restricted by age.

Not good advice when there’s a medical need for TRT!

t boosters have no studies behind them, likely snakeoil
with that said, if I was your age with a 400 total, if my free was semi reasonable. I would wait on trt.

Starting TRT at his age will cause him to be on TRT for the rest of his life. His natural production will shut down. Read up on it. To many young men are hitting it early not realizing long term effect. Lots of guys are doing 200 ml a week to build muscle along with HGH and other roids... they tend not to live to average life span.

Not true, he can stop at any time, and return to baseline.

You’re putting testosterone replacement therapy into the same category as ASS/steriod abuse.

You’re drawing your own conclusions based on steroid abuser’s and applying that same flawed logic to people on TRT and providing no credible studies to support your claim.

This is right after you recommended testosterone boosters, to which you were provided with creditable evidence they are scams/snake oil.

Misinformation has the potential to be harmful.

Hit pause, educated yourself further and stop embarrassing yourself!

The cardiovascular issues associated with TRT have been clarified by recent studies showing that therapy associated with clear increases in serum testosterone levels to the normal range is associated with reduced all-cause mortality.
