Things I should have on hand?

I will likely be starting TRT right after my consult with Defy on the 8th. What are some things I should have on hand? Syringes (size?), needles (more than one type?), other things I might not think of?

As CoastWatcher & James indicated, Defy will set you up with every supply you need. My only 2-cents to add is to go with the 2-day shipping option so that you get your supplies ASAP.

Then again you can get some supplies at walmart and save a ton...like BD alcohol wipes, and a Sharps container. Plenty of places to buy online the 29g 1/2" 1mL syringe most of us use, too. I may be easier to let pay and let Defy supply you once or twice while you get going and find some deals here and there, supplies you prefer, and so on.

One thing to think of that I did not initially until my wife brought it up, she's a nurse, is needle disposal... We have 3 dogs, a few teenagers, and a 10 year old in my home so didn't want to throw used needles and syringes in the garbage. I bought a couple sharps medical waste containers off of amazon, very cheap by the way, and researched locations in my county to bring the containers for disposal...

For a sharp container. I use an old laundry soap container and mark it sharp container. The tops fit on really nice and secure. I found where I dispose of my needle, everyone uses a laundry soap container.

Beware!

You have just summoned the wrath of Re-Ride.

You have been warned.

;)

As shan1784 mentions, I also have 3 teenagers in my home, as well as an 11 yr old. Because of this, I purchased a medicine case with a lock and a sharps snip (blue nail clipper looking thing on the pic below) for needle disposal from Amazon. The sharps snip hold ups to 1,500 needles in it after you snip the needle from the syringe. Then, you can put the syringe (with the needle clipped) in an old protein tub or as Vince mentioned in an old laundry soap container and throw it in the trash can (check local laws though). Here is a picture of how I store my supplies:

Since I'm also prescribed HCG, I use the following cold case for traveling, which was purchased from Walmart for like $8:

Everyone's situation is different, but for the most part Empower Pharmacy provided me with everything to get started. I then looked online for deals on 28G 1/2" insulin needles for my TCyp and 31g 5/16" for my HCG. They were about $13 for 100 of each. I also purchased more alcohol wipes from Walmart for like $2. Like I said, though, every situation is different. For people who don't travel or don't need to lock up their meds, what Defy or Empower provide should be plenty to get you going.

Nice setup! were did you buy the medicine case?

Thanks, PAUL-E. It's actually a locking cash box. I got it on Amazon for $18.99 (link below). Underneath the top section is additional open storage space where I store my extra supplies like the 10 pack bags of additional syringes, 3ml syringes for my Lipo-C, and my scripts, as well. I love it. It helps me keep everything I use in one handy case.

Thanks I believe this would be something good to have on hand when you have a family and kids are around.

Looking at the kit is impressive and scary. Any options to consider a bio-identical cream..? I've been using T Cream and USP DMSO with great success for years now. No needles. 1/2 gram of cream and my T is 1000. Used to be 200. Half a gram is not much at all.

I would need to read up on it some more, but I'm not personally scared of needles anymore. My first 5-10 pins were rough, but with the right needles you don't even feel much at all. I was using "harpoons" as Jackie Treehorn describes them. I couldn't agree more with him on that one.

I guess I'm one of those, if it ain't broke don't fix it type of guys. Right now I'm feeling good and things are going well. I've got my next appointment on June 17th so I may discuss it with my doc and read some more information on this forum. My only worry would be my wife or kids getting some on them, but maybe I just don't know too much about the products.

I definitely don't want to roll over and see my wife with a beard bigger than mine each morning, that's for sure!
