I know some people here suffer from low shbg. Could t3 treatment be an option?

Here's a study: Small doses of triiodothyronine can change some risk factors associated with abdominal obesity. - PubMed - NCBI
RESULTS:
Six weeks treatment with small doses of T3 resulted in a significant increase in plasma SHBG.

I've also seen reports of people increasing their thyroid with HCG. I'm still learning and would like to know more about these things.

Could hcg signal the thyroid to produce more and could this then have an impact on shbg, afaik it should.

Would be interesting to hear what you guys have to say, know about these things.

Low SHBG is not a problem and does not need to be raised. Low SHBG does require a different treatment protocol and E management. Therein lies the problem...E management is where most all guys fail out in TRT and low SHBG.

I believe that some thyroid medication can increase SHBG by increasing the thyroxine levels.

Are you absolutely certain about this?

I am not knowledgeable enough to say anything for sure.

But from what i've gathered, low shbg usually mean trouble, on average.

And wouldn't low shbg mean less stable hormone levels since the body goes trough the released substances faster.

I do believe people with low shbg can optimise their protocol and make things work but i'm trying to get all angles in here. A more general angle if you may.

Since I just started using higher doses of cytomel, it will be interesting to see what happens to my shbg levels.

If I recall, your SHBG is at 48. If it were to double like LTChris' did, would you have to consider changing your protocol from daily to once weekly?

No I wouldn't change my protocol, it took me too long to get completely dialed in.

If by chance your SHBG were to go up substantially or double, would you still be dialed in with such a large change to the largest item that determines protocol, SHBG? You Free T would surely drop substantially in that scenario. Just thinking that the smaller daily injections might not work for you under those new circumstances. Of course, this is just all hypothetical.

My old protocol of 20mg of testosterone cypionate daily, 500iu of HCG every 3 1/2 days and 25mg of dhea daily'

T serum >1500 range 264-916
FT 39.4 range 6.6-18.1
dhea 228.6 range 48.9-344.2
estradiol 43.7 range 8.0-35.0
shbg 74.9 range 19.4-76.4

For whatever reason I felt great, physically mentally and sexually.

My SHBG has consistently been in the range of 16 - 22 since I started TRT four years ago. I've been on 75mg Levothyroxine daily for the last two years, and added T3 25mcg daily for the last year. If anything, my SHBG has slightly decreased since starting thyroid meds.

Also, I've used HCG in dosages ranging anywhere from 500iu per week to 2500iu per week, and it never budged my SHBG.
