Nothing works better than reducing dose, salt, and sugar intake. Also, you can buy Hydrochlorothiazide cheaply without insurance (prescription needed).

I don't mind the optics but it seems to negatively affect my digestion, i.e. I cannot eat a normal meal portion, my stomach seems to be quickly overfull and causes discomfort.
Going to adjust my nutrition and guess I will try a 'natural' diuretic to alleviate symptoms.
If I can get the Hydrochlorothiazide, then I will test it to obtain a reference to compare with the 'natural' alternative.

Digestive enzymes? Elimination diet? Have you been checked for SIBO?

Also get checked for H. Pylori with a stool antigen test. Fullness after a small meal, corresponding lack of appetite, and even nausea are symptoms of H. Pylori infection in the stomach.

"Bloat" due to intestinal gas is related to intestinal bacteria and infections. It has nothing to do with water retention and will not respond to diuretics.

Thanks for the information; I would have not considered that!

Second this. I know HP too well as been battling a severe form of it for years. Now that I'm finally HP free (tfu, tfu, tfu, knock on wood x 3) after #3rd round of Antibiotics (120g) and tons of other stuff and nearly going off my rocker the difference is night and day. I was constantly burping and bloated even after small meal not to mention a severe pain I had, which Docs never seen before and couldn't explain. I could write a ton about all/other symptoms I had, and already did some in my own journal, so I agree, absolutely get HP checked as its a nasty bug for real which interferes with nutrient absorbtion and tons of other very important things.

Just my 0.02 cents.
