Sudden Insomnia - Waking Early

I'm struggling with this same issue now. Waking up at 2am and can't fall asleep until the alarm goes off at 5. It's wrecking me. I'm taking 1mg time release melatonin but it isn't working so I'm going to go up higher. If it doesn't work, Benadryl is next. Waiting on my e2 sensitive test to ensure it's not hormonal.

It is anxiety. I take valium before I crash. And add melatonin. Ativan works too, muscle relaxant do the job. I would just try the benzodiazepines and give your body a break and treat at the same time. Then slowly come off with Valium. I can say I am not dependent on it, and can come off anytime and still have a decent day.

Yes, more than likely benzodiazepines numb the pituitary with high doses and over long periods of time, but most of us are on TRT so what is the harm? But we can all agree sleep is very important for healing the body so I would take sleep over anything any day.
