Sub Q

Buy Lab Tests Online
I am getting quite a bit of scaring E3D Test C on a 23 gauge needle. I was considering sub Q and watched the vids. Decided to call Empower and talk to the pharmacist. They have LOTS of good info and will readily share what they are seeing going out. The pharmacist said they are still seeing mostly IM with 23 gauge. Some sub Q but not a lot at this point. He did say they are seeing both draw and injection with 23 gauge which was new to me and I will probably move to that right away (drop the 18 gauge draw). He mentioned SOME loss of product in the needle transfer. Not sure if I should hold off on trying the sub q or if I should give it a try.

I draw with a 22g and inject with a 25g. Loss with the needle change is very slight .01-.02 ML.

22g is fine for the draw and is easy on the rubber on the bottle.

I have read reports of guys using 18g for the draw ending up with pieces of rubber in the bottle or syringe.

Okay, makes sense. Gene: have you ever tried to draw with that 27 g?

Yes and it takes too damn long LOL.

If you draw with a small gauge needle here's a little tip that helps make it easier; get a bowl of very hot water and place your vial of test in it and let it soak for 2 to 3 minutes. When you take it out dry it and put some alcohol on the septum and then draw up your test as soon as possible. The hot water will make the ester more viscus and makes drawing in a smaller syringe much easier.

When you are done drawing up your test pull back on the plunger to empty the needle barrel into the syringe. When you put on the needle to inject simply push up on the plunger till you see the first drop appear on the needle, this way you don't lose one drop of the man juice:)

BTW, if a septum causes pieces of rubber to enter the vial using an 18 g needle than something is wrong with the vial and septum. A medical septum can handle much larger needles then 18 g and not break apart.

The warming of the t is a great tip. It helps speed up the process when using small gauge like I do. I usually sit down and prep a handful of syringes at one time. Then I just have to grab and inject saving time.

Don, I draw and use a 27g for IM, it does take a min or two to draw but not a big deal. I have never tried SubQ I use my quads and just switch legs each time. I inject .5cc twice a week. I think I would try SubQ if I had less belly fat. lol.

I have found that if I draw up a weeks worth in an syringe with and 18 gauge, I can use an insulin syringe 31 gauge, pull the plunger out, lay it on an alcohol pad, then measure my dose into the insulin syringe, stick the plunger back in the end, turn it upside down, what a few minutes, then push the air out, then inject, it seems to work perfectly for sub q. I never liked IM injections as I always either tensed up or hit a hard spot in my leg and wind up having to stick several times. With sub q, I let just a drop hang on the end and stik it in, you never feel it, aspirated, then slowly but firmly inject, I have no problems.

Most patients we deal with are used to using a 23G 1'' syringe to both draw and inject IM. I recommend a 25-27G 1'' for IM injections and a 29G 1/2'' for SQ injections.

I do not recommend using 2 separate needles for the draw and injection for the many reasons listed in this post: https://www.excelmale.com/forum/thr...-injecting-Testosterone?highlight=draw+needle

I use a 27g 5/8 for IM shot in my quads. I dont have much fat on them, so pharmacist said that 5/8 would do the trick.
