After trying a 30-day HCG jumpstart by test levels only went from 397 to 400.

Here were the post-HCG monotherapy lab values:

estradiol: 23 pg/mL
Total test: 400 ng/dL
Free test: 84.4 pg/mL

I'm being told I have primary hypogonadism. I still feel like crap so the people at Defy put me on test cyp injections. I took my first 200 mg dose just this past Friday. I don't feel any different with the exception of my butt cheek feeling sore. I'm going to inject twice a week at 100 mg going forward. In addition, I've been prescribed 0.5 mg arimidex per week.

How long does it usually take before one starts to feel better? I'm worried this isn't going to work.

I am in my sixth week of cyp at 200 per week. Just now starting to feel the positive effects on a prolonged basis. Till now has been a roller coaster. My labs two weeks ago were tot test 548 up from initial level of 324.

I am not a Dr. just a guy that is a mod at yahoo doing that much T is what I do but I do my shots 80 mgs E3D subQ doing this with a small 27g 1ml. x 1/2" lg. needle and I do 250 IU's of HCG the day before my Test C shot E3D and I take Aromasin to keep my E2 down.

Now as for how long it takes to work first you need to get leveled to the point you feel better most find this being up into the upper 1/3 of there labs range for TT. After you get level and keep E2 down in the sweet spot so your having good Rem Sleep Wood every night. In time your body will start to undo the damage done from having low T and you will start to feel better a little everyday.

So it's best to keep a log on what your doing and how your feeling so you can read this back.

Wouldn't my t levels increase faster if I injected 200mg every 5 days instead of 7 days? What if I injected 300mg per week rather than the prescribed 200mg?

In other words, why not increase the frequency or the dosage of the medication to get to the sweet spot for test levels faster?

Thanks,
~N

When injecting it's not how much but how long.

Test Cyp has a half life of about 6 days or so; so it takes 6 weeks to get serum levels to a point where they are consistent.

Increasing your dosage will put you into the supraphysiological range which is not what you want for a host of reasons not discounting increased E2 levels.

Start low and go slow and monitor along the way.

TRT is not a race; it is for life so take your time and do it right and you will enjoy the benefits.

Gene,

Is on the money with this the more T you do that your body dose not need the
more stress your going to put on your Adrenals and you could end up with Adrenal
Insufficiency.

I have this due to being Hypopituitary and believe me it's not fun.

Too many men think more is better and they also think they should feel
better over night. Think about this how long did it take for the low T to make
you feel bad. Getting leveled right and keeping it leveled then your body will
start to undo the damage done from having low T and you will get better a little
everyday.

So keep a log on how your feeling day to day so you can read it back and
see how your doing.

Thanks, Gene.

According to my calculations it should take roughly 60 days for testosterone levels to double and level out given a 6 day half life for test cyp. Assuming an initial dose of 200mg, that would mean one should be at 400ng/dL in 8-9 weeks. This also assumes no endogenous production during this time period. How is this protocol suppose to get me into the 700-850 range?

I still don't understand why a larger dosage wouldn't bring my levels up faster and higher. Why not 400mg/week? This would level me out around 800ng/dL, no?

400 mg of Testosterone in one week is not TRT; it's AAS.

There is no rushing here; take your time and go slow.

In 6 weeks time with a consistent dosage protocol will tell you if you need to adjust your dosage or not to get you to optimal levels like 700 to 850 mg/pl.

Injecting 400 mg at one time will blow up any homeostasis you have and most likely spike E2 at the same time crushing SHBG while stressing the hell out of your adrenals (not discounting firing up your CNS as well)...just many things to go wrong with that mind set including libido and erectile function.

Like I said, start low and go slow and get dialed in over time; it's the only real way to do it and the best Doc's in TRT do it just that way for a reason.
