Current Protocol through Defy: 2x a week Text Cyp Shot of 70, total week 140. 3x a week shot of HCG 350 IU.

I have been on this site since I started researching TRT in early 2016. I currently inject with a 30 guage, 1/2 inch syringe for HCG in my stomach area. And for the Test Cyp I used a 27 gauge 1/2....now here is where my problems/questions begin.

Since I am injecting every 3.5 days I try to rotate my Test Cyp shots. I watched Nelson's video on the shoulder, tried that with the 27 guage 1/2 inch, and I was in agony for the next couple of days, tried it again, same thing. I am injecting right in the meat of the shoulder (just like in Nelson's video). So i tried to do the quad....same thing...hardly any pain going in/doing the injection but god...the next couple of days my legs are sore as hell. I literally feel like i bruised the crap out of it....everytime. I have switched legs/etc with no luck. I am looked at many videos online and I am sure I am injecting it in the correct spot (right outer half in the middle to upper area of the quad).

The only luck I have had with no residual pain in the days after my shots have been my glute until recently, when I started to get lumps under my skin (in my glute/actually in both). I am not sure if this is because the 1/2 inch is going only SubQ or not...but it was kinda scary (luckily after a week it went away)

So my question is, for those 3.5 a day shot users out there, what is the best place for you to inject where you feel the least residual pain?

One last thing, I also injected HCG in my left love handle/stomach area and got a nasty bruise underneath my skin. A lot of blood also came out after I pulled out the 30 gauge/ 1/2 inch needle. I have never had an issue with this before, has anyone had this injecting Sub Q with HCG? I don't know if it has something to do with the fact that I an injecting 3x a week or what. Never happened before and it was the same week I got the lumps in my glute (not sure if this is just bad luck, or I am doing something wrong....I always an extremely sanitary, aspirate , and take my time with the injections - no rushing through them)

Any thoughts/suggestions would help. I really miss the days of 1 200 test cyp shot in the glute (now doing 5 a week), damn SHBG.......

I hope this is not a dumb or insulting question, but when you inject are you going slow, or fast? I ask because if you inject quickly, it generally hurts for a couple of days, but if you go slow, no pain at all. I do the same needles as you, but always in my shoulders and I don't feel any pain after the fact unless I space it and inject really quick.

Always Slow. Like I said at the end of the post, I always take my time pushing it in nice and slow, no need to rush

Have you tried not aspirating?

I don't believe aspirating is necessary and isn't recommended by most medical professionals AFAIK anymore. I don't recall defy recommending me to aspirate.

It's entirely possible you're jerking the needle all around while trying to do so. Bleeding from a 30g needle is something I haven't experienced. If you're in a vein SubQ you're doing something wrong.

Ok i'll try that and see what happens, when I aspirate, i usually try to be as gentle and have as less movement as possible in the needle. I inject the needle slow, inject the medication slow and pull out pretty slow and even.

I also did my most recent shot tonight in my quad with a 1 inch needle to see if there is less residual pain using a longer needed getting into the muscle more. I had some left over from when i used to use a 23 guage/ 1 inch needle for my 1x a week shot in the glute.

No need to aspirate when injecting sub-q. As far as needle sizes the higher the gauge the more pressure/force due to the smaller diameter so even though you say you are injecting slow maybe not slow enough and as far as when you pull the needle out the oil will always follow the puncture hole so when pulling out too slow the oil will leak out faster. Try pulling out quick and apply pressure directly afterwards.

The only time my muscle hurts after injecting, is when I don't relax the muscle. I use easy touch 27g 1/2" and only inject in my shoulders, every 3 1/2 days both T and HCG.

I get very little pain from injecting, but occasionally the next 1-2 days I can feel a dull pain like a sore muscle in my leg. Very rarely I'll feel a twinge for a minute 4-5 days later where I injected while walking up some stairs.

Least overall = glutes
Least initial = quads (I get that delayed muscle type soreness like after a workout the next day)

I use a 25 or 27 gauge, 1 inch needle with a 1ml insulin syringe. Usually 27 1/2 inch for quads.

I've never had any pain when my Dr. was injecting using a 23 gauge + 3ml syringe in my glutes - during or after. She always got a drop of blood though, which I rarely see when I self administer.

all good advice besides the point that we all get some post injection issue from time-to-time. I've had some nasty knots and lumps that were pretty sore in my thigh, bruises on my stomach, a drop or three of blood. You'll refine your technique and places for injection. Try the upper/outer thigh, I have lots of success in that area. Also, even Dr Crisler on his injection demo video, drew blood, so, it happens.

Yeah i actually am having less pain today then i usually have, i used a 1 inch needle as opposed to my typical 1/2 inch. I'm not sure, but would using the longer needle actually help in the pain department when injecting in the quad?

Vince, have you ever had any issues injecting both at the same time? Im guessing HCG does no harm if it gets injected IM versus SUB Q

Thanks for the advice, i'll def go extra slow on the injection and pull out quicker to see if there is any difference.

I've always injected HCG, with shallow IM. After watching Nelson's video on injecting HCG and testosterone. Over 2 years ago.

I pin 3x a week, M W F, with 29 gauge 1/2" for the test and 31 gauge 5/8" for the HCG. All done sub Q in the belly with no problems whatsoever.
You should try subQ for the test.

This is probably a dumb question. When you guys said to inject slowly, do you mean to insert the needle into my body slowly, or push the plunger when the needle is already inside slowly? Why does injecting slowly reduce pain?

your anxiety over the shots is likely to be worse than any shot that doesn't go perfectly from time to time.

both - you're sticking your self so I'd say you don't want to jab yourself like a nurse would.... just too awkward to do that. And T is in oil (ie it's thick), so going slow is smart here, otherwise you'd almost be forcing in the medication. HCG can be 'fast' - its in water so gos in quite easily.
