Question About What Tests to Get

Hi all. I'm going by the doctor on Tuesday and am going to ask them to run some tests (haven't really started taking TRT yet, besides this debacle https://www.excelmale.com/forum/showthread.php?6251-New-Here-and-Concerned-About-Doctor ). I'm trying to be smarter this next time and want to go ahead and get all the testing done before I even attempt to get back on TRT. My insurance covers all of my testing done at the student health center and I want to get everything checked off for the pre-TRT list. To that end, would y'all recommend any other tests that I should have them run? I really wanted to go all-out for when I go doctor in the future and they want to see all my lab work pre-TRT.

Blood Pressure
CBC with diff PLT
Comprehensive Metabolic Panel w/EGFR
Cortisol/DHEAS Saliva Test (4 specimens in one day)
Dehydroepiandrosterone
Estradiol
Estimated Glomerular (eGFR)
Ferritin
Folate
Follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH)
Free Testosterone
Free T3
Free T4
Hematocrit
High-Density Lipoprotein
Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (hCG)
Liver enzymes (AST and ALT)
Luteinizing hormone (LH)
Prostate-Specific Antigen
Total Testosterone
Thyroid-Stimulating Hormone Ultrasensitive
Vitman B-12
Vitamin D

I appreciate y'alls help A LOT!

Estradiol Ultra Sensitive (take your pick: essential, why bother )
Check Comp metabolic panel version, get the more advanced one
Lipid profile instead of HDL
LDL direct?
hCG? odd ( tumor screen?)

No limits on what tests are covered at 100%?
Ask the experts on here if these are helpful for TRT baseline. Some of these would not be indicated:

sleep assessement, possibly a study esp if you snore or have high hematocrit

Don't take any supplements or fortified foods/drinks for 5 days before draw. Draw before 9 am if possible.

SHBG
Testos. Bioavailble
Prolactin
Pregnenolone
Progesterone
Magnesium
Zinc. plasma
Phosphorous
B6
Erythropoetin
Iron Binding/saturation
Thyroid anti-bodies (3), TPO, T3 reverese, ( depends on who u ask)
GLYCOHEMOGLOBIN A1C (3 MONTH AVERAGE SUGAR)
IGF I Somatomedin C
AMYLASE (PANCREAS TEST)

health screen, not usually done w/o indcation, not TRT baseline:
quantiferon TB blood screen (why not?)
hep A antibody IGM
hep B core antibody
hep B surface antibody
hep C antibody
Celiac panel
urinalysis w/microscopic exam

Dr Crisler's book has a comprehensive listing in it as well, along with good basic info. Get his book and Nelsons book if you have not done so already... You can get paperdback or electronic. I am old school and like turning pages by hand:)

Thanks everyone for the help. I updated the list and will see what tests I can get my doctor to do on Tuesday. I went ahead and ordered both of the books that Orrin suggested.

Understanding Your Hormones

Estradiol (E2)

A form of estrogen produced from testosterone. Important for bone health, mood, and libido. Too high can cause side effects; too low can affect well-being.

DHT

Dihydrotestosterone is a potent androgen derived from testosterone. Affects hair growth, prostate health, and masculinization effects.

Free Testosterone

The biologically active form of testosterone not bound to proteins. Directly available for cellular uptake and biological effects.
