Prostate cancer is G7 (4+3) and being told I can go back on TRT

I'm awaiting surgery scheduling, and currently diagnosed with prostate cancer (G7 4+3). So it's moderately aggressive. I'm 57 and in good shape and have been taking TRT for 15 years or so.

My urologist took me off test when I was diagnosed 4 months ago. So that was obviously a bumpy departure.

I talked to a radiation oncologist who said I should have surgery. The surgeon talked to me about prostate saturation levels and he said I'd be fine to go back on TRT until surgery.

Wait, what? This feels like an unnecessary risk to me. I get the saturation levels, but that isn't a fixed number. Pros would be better recovery and obvious quality of life enhancements. Cons may be that the cancer could still feed from the testosterone?

Thoughts on starting TRT back up while awaiting surgery?
