PCP Wants My Labs From Defy

I had a physical with my PCP for the first time since starting with Defy. He was skeptical and wanted all my medical records from Defy before he would be willing to fill out the physical form. I signed a release form for him to get my records, but now I'm not so sure if this is a good idea. Does this seem reasonable? Does anyone else's PCP get all their labs from Defy?

I really like my PCP. He's a good doctor and I've been with him for a good while, but I'm concerned that he might want to make changes. I trust Dr. Saya a lot more when it comes to TRT. I tend to overthink things like this, so maybe I am stressing over nothing. Maybe this is standard practice. I don't know.

If Dr. Saya sees this you can PM me and I can give you my info.

I always bring all my labs with me when I have a dr. appointment even the one from defy Medical. If it is really a good doctor there should be no issues with your labs. If he does make it hard for you I probably would just find a new doctor.

I never talk TRT with my nurse practitioner, when I do a physical with her it's "work related", and that's it. A LOT of providers bias will be exposed the moment you say anything about TRT and it's best to avoid why you need the physical, the "why" has nothing to do with an objective assessment of a few health indicators. Also good advice is just go to the minute clinic at a CVS.
I don't give my NP my Defy labs, not ever.

A PCP requesting records from any specialist isn't atypical. However, as you note he was "skeptical", depending on the interpretation and his level of understanding with hormonal treatments (which unfortunately is lacking in most GPs), he may be opposed to certain elements of your treatment and it may strain (or end) your relationship with him (again depending on both his reaction and then your counter reaction).

When I approached my PCP about HCG he said he didn't know enough about it and wasn't comfortable providing me an RX for it. I appreciated his honesty. He already provides my RX for Test E.

I approached him about Defy and he said he would provide all the lab work they requested so it's covered on my insurance. I've provide him my notes from my appointments with Melissa. When Melissa changed my Test schedule and added supplements and HCG my PCP was fine with it and appreciated the update(s).

I doubt my circumstance is the norm. Then again he's the 4th PCP I've had in this small town. Left the other's over their lack of knowledge on male hormones and lack of flexibility.

Wow, that is amazing!

I almost wish there was a way for this doctor to learn more about TRT so he can help guys in your area.

There is a urologist where I live who is willing to give me a script for anything that Dr. Saya prescribes if I wanted to run it through insurance. I haven't taken him up on it since the compounded medications are inexpensive and are more convinient, but it's nice to know that the option is there.

He said the biggest hurdle to prescribing anything other than T Cyp or Androgel himself is education and resources about TRT. He is very interested in learning more but has no time and/or resources available to get data on dosages and use of HCG and Anastrozole, let alone having time to even search for the data to begin with. A couple of years ago he told me that I might have better luck at "one of the HRT clinics" which is what lead me straight to Defy.
