Over-respond to .125 anastrozole , what are my options...

I received my labs back from a week ago and it seems after only taking two .125 anastrozole capsules twice weekly, I'm showing a sensitive estradiol of 12.5 pg/mL. It seems I'm damn if I take it and damned if I don't, I'm also experience some kind of awful rebound when I skip the anastrozole after finding out I had low estrogen. I'm trading high estrogen for low estrogen and Empower doesn't seem to offer the anastrozole any lower than .100.

I've heard of some who have claimed to be on .05 anastrozole, but don't know where they could possibly getting it. If I remove half the contents from the anastrozole capsules, I'm told I can't be guarantee the dosage is actually half.

What options do I have to control my estrogen or does anyone know where I might find .05 anastrozole?

I am splitting 0.125 capsules in half for 1/16 mg doses by pulling apart the capsule halves, dumping out the contents, splitting in half, taking one half and storing the remaining back in the capsule for next dose.

You can also dissolve tablets in alcohol (vodka or grain alcohol) and draw the fluid in dosage appropriate to your needs. Takes some basic math depending on your needed dose. e.g. 1mg tablet in 1 ml of alcohol, using an insulin syringe (for measuring and taking orally, not injecting!), 1 unit = 1/100mg, so 0.05mg is 5 units

I have also heard that the best way to administer lower doses of anastrozole is to dilute it in vodka. There is a thread on the forum when spells out the process.

I think Vince Carter used to use the "vodka" process. Maybe he will weigh in.

So you are ingesting the powder form and storing the remaining half in the capsule? Doesn't that speed up absorption rates by forgoing the capsule slower release?

Yes I take the powder with a mouthful of food, and yes storing remaining half, but regarding absorption, they are not timed release capsules to start with, they are just gelatin caps. Whether you take them in capsule or not the entire capsule contents are available essentially at once as soon as the capsule dissolves in your stomach. Maybe 15-30 minutes difference in terms of when you ingest powder form vs in capsule.

I do the same with DHEA and pregnenelone as well.

Correct...if you gather up your Anastrozole to total 1mg, dump it all out to a clean container and add 1mL of Vodka you can then draw up whatever dose you want. For instance 10 on the syringe would be .10mg, and so forth.

All excellent ideas everyone, I have a ton of 18 gauges gauges syringes left over. I guess those .250 anastrozole aren't useless after all.

When I was taking an AI they compounded me tablets at 0.07MG.
I also had compounded tablets made at 0.15MG prior.
Tablets are scored so you can slice and dice any way you like.
As I recall they ship to most states, if not all.
All they need is a script...

Systemlord not saying that you don't need anastrozole (everybody is different) but how long have you tried going without any AI completely? if your E's were supressed most will feel bad with high e2 for some time but then you feel great

Are you saying you are taking a total of 4 x .125 weekly? Because if so just reduce your weekly intake to 2 x .125 or 1 x .125 weekly. Seems you still have room to reduce without having to make you own mix in vodka

What was your E2 before adding the 0.125mg Anastrozole 2x a day to your protocol?

I think what happened is after taking the two dosages .125 anastrozole EOD and then skipped the next dosage and then later in the day I experienced a panic like attack that sent me to the ER, thought at the time it was E2 rebounding but am thinking it was a delayed response to knocking down estrogen too far.

I then double down on the AI and after a week started noticing joints were sore and achy, popping and clicking. My erections and libido seem on vacation and are fighting to come back 48 hours after the AI half life is reached, I've completely stopped the AI for awhile.

I remember the first day I took the AI I felt amazing midday and later in the day felt some sort of crash I assumed just to be a side effect of the medication and not low estrogen, results after only two AI doses showed a 12.5 estrogen.

I'll wait until estrogen is higher before I start .625 twice weekly.

With great deference and respect to you, that's indicative a problems well beyond you skipped an AI, over dosed/under dosed your E2 and such. What's going on there? If you ended up in the ER...

I experience hot flashes, faintness/lightheadedness and blood pressure spikes. A one time BP medicine brought things under control within 30 minutes, back to normal. I'm certain my body was just late in registering the large estrogen reduction so quickly.

This same thing happened the last time I skipped the AI, my chest and nipples are starting to feel very warm. I think it's safe to say estrogen is high again.

Took the AI and am feeling so much better after only a few hours. When I first increased the AI from .125 EOD to .250 EOD I felt really good for several days, then later in the week felt low E2, clicking joints, but not feeling terrible like E2 was crashed and even had erections briefly throughout the day. I'm thinking my dosage lies somewhere between .125 and .250. So dissolving the .250 AI in vodka and taking .187 EOD.

Question, if I take a .250 anastrozole and dump the contents into vodka, I'm assuming it doesn't matter the volume of vodka as long as I consume 3/4's.
