Thanks for reading.

A couple weeks ago I started this thread:
https://www.excelmale.com/forum/showthread.php?9169-Introduction-Labs

Current situation:

I have controlled diabetes (slightly high still but almost down to normal levels)
I have CVD (stents)
Sleep apnea (controlled with cpap)
hypertension

I have a cardiologist I see every 6-9 months
I "have" an endo havent seen in 10 months or so because he was only about insuling. I used to be on 4 shots / day plus metformin and im off all.
I also have high blood pressure med but havent taken that either but my bp fluctuates from slightly normal or above to high.
I am trying to control that without meds - low sodium and things like that.

Started seeing "functional" dr 4 months ago. He's been testing and trying to get my whole health better / under control. I've lost 100lbs over the course of 10 years 50 lbs of that within the last 1.5 years. (before I was that heavy i was in good shape. Exercise 6 days a week 12% bf. That's when I got the diabetes and gained approx 130 lbs.)

So I got myself to the point where I could not lose any more weight. I did this by diet and exercise and getting off my meds. I started seeing this dr because even though I have these co factors going on I felt something else was holding me back.
Fast forward to now: I've been on a yeast cleansing diet protocol for 2-3 months and did not lose any more weight. Last week he wanted me on the HCG diet in order to drop weight quickly as possible in efforts to make some progress and improve things. I've been on this diet for a week. First 3-4 days I lost about 8 lbs. My HCG then arrived and am taking 100u daily as per his advisement. Since that i've lost another ~4 lbs.
Good - except all my other conditions are not improving. If you saw my other thread my T is 194. My E is low also. I have all the symptoms of these numbers.

We've discussed trt several times. He advises not to go on it (for now) but said he will write me up for it if I decide to. He advises against it because of my CVD and that is the main reason why im not on it yet. Im trying everything else to improve my system in hopes that everything will improve without going on trt. Mainly im afraid of a heart attack or anything along this lines since I have high blood pressure and cvd and my crp and lip(a) are both higher than they should be.

So here is the question and im taking what I read into "consideration" dont get the idea that anything I read here is in place of any dr info or something im going to run out and do I just want some different viewpoints:

Should I shouldnt I be on trt given the risk factors described? Is my risk significantly higher than it is right now not being on trt?

Any other thoughts?

The dr wants me to give the HCG thing another week or 2 to see if anything is improving but at the least i'll lose more weight.
He doesnt think the hcg will do much for my t as im on a low dose but said lets see what happens.

Im real tired of being like this but being like this is better than being dead.

Back in july/august I was taking 2 tongkat ali supplements that either raised my T or my DHT.
Im in mid to late 40's and felt like I was 18. It was phenominal to say the least. It took somewhere between 3 and 5 weeks to get to that point and lasted 2-3 weeks and then I ran out and it declined back to where im at.

Thanks for any help.

PS. I know I will hear to consult with defy. I am definitely thinking of that and from what I see they are very good at what they do. Having said that they are a TRT protocol business and I dont want to be directed into something that could possibly be a grave risk.

"they are a TRT protocol business and I dont want to be directed into something that could possibly be a grave risk."

I never have and never will recommend TRT for ANY patient unless I feel it to be a healthy and wise decision for them...trust me, I have turned away many patients from TRT in favor of alternative treatments for EXACTLY that reason. I know you probably didn't mean that statement with a negative implication, but some may read it that way.

From a CVD perspective, I would need to thoroughly evaluate your entire case during a consult, but initial points of discussion are that improved T levels will: improve insulin sensitivity, often lower CRP (anti-inflammatory effect), assist with body composition changes (more LBM, less fat), improve mood and motivation (very important for "sticking with" the necessary lifestyle changes to mitigate other cardiac risk factors).

Dr. Saya,
No I didnt want it to sound like that, so thanks for clearing that up so it doesn't confuse anyone.

I agree about all the benefits, it's just that one little part about increasing cardiac risk.
Anyway, I dont expect you to go into detail here but I appreciate the response.

Most likely will be consulting with you I guess i'll need to start the process to get on the waiting list.

Noted Rhino. It's easy to think of *supposed* risks of any type of treatment (please read some of the other posts about the horribly inadequate and misleading studies that were used to suggest cardiac risk with TRT), but that also has to be weighed against the risks of NO TREATMENT. With your T level <200, a very strong argument could be made that your risks of remaining at such low T levels would far surpass any possible risks of TRT treatment (assuming appropriate treatment with appropriate monitoring - which was NOT present in those studies).

Your situation is very unique. I hope you become a patient of dr.Saya. I'm sure there are many men just like you , with heart disease and many other health problems. Hopefully you will continue posting your journey. I'm very interested to see how things unfold for you.

Thanks Vince,
Yes I will keep updating.
I didn't really think it would be this complicated but unfortunately yes, it seems I have more going on than most. I am sure there are others like me, but maybe a much smaller percentage.

The crazy part is that 15 or so years ago I was in really good health and did not see any of this on the horizon. For 15 years I was basically just keeping my head above water until a year and half ago when I started making good progress and have worked real hard since then.

Thx
