Need Advice - Is This the Way to Evaluate a Patient

I asked an online urologist should I be on TRT with a lot T of 234 ng/DL , here is his response, what do you guys think ?

At least, I would review your detailed history of general health, prior GU surgery, existing medical conditions & drug use, lifestyle, pattern of sex life, etc., do physical exam, esp. on testicular size/ consistency, & repeat gonadal blood profile including testosterone, LH, & FSH, before starting TRT. So, ask your treating doctor ....

It makes sense to address all of the things he listed first and then, if those avenues have been exhausted without improvement, go on TRT. There may be something fixable causing your Low T - like sleep apnea, just as one possible example.

Are you concerned a doctor is rushing you into TRT without a full/proper workup? Or is it another problem - you feel the testing and examination you've had isn't leading to proper treatment?

Understanding Your Hormones
