I'm on 200mgs a week t- cyp. Before that I was on compounded cream. For the last year my hemoglobin has been 11 .9 -12.3. I'm on a mega B vitamin supplement.Should I be worried?

Testosterone is a Hematopoietic (blood building) hormone that increases hemoglobin and red blood cell volume (hematocrit).

Your value is borderline low but concerning since you are already of testosterone (you fail to mention how long you have been on TRT)

If you have low hemoglobin while on testosterone replacement, there could be several causes:

1- Too frequent blood donations
2- Aspirin related internal bleeding
3- Iron deficiency
4- Malnutrition/vitamin deficiency (B-12 in particular)
5- Heavy and long menstruation in females
6- Stomach ulcers
7- Low thyroid
8- Chemotherapy
9- Anemia caused by bone marrow or stem cell problems
10- Advanced kidney disease

I've been on Trt for 6 yrs now. First on Testim, then compounded cream, and finally for the last year injections. I was giving blood donations up until 8 months ago when my level went to 11.6 and they wouldn't take it.now it stays between 11.5-12.5.
I'm on a mega B vitamin supplement, but my new Dr said he thought my thyroid was a little low and started me on armour....I should be getting new thyroid levels soon.
What would cause an iron deficiency?

Understanding Your Hormones

Estradiol (E2)

A form of estrogen produced from testosterone. Important for bone health, mood, and libido. Too high can cause side effects; too low can affect well-being.

DHT

Dihydrotestosterone is a potent androgen derived from testosterone. Affects hair growth, prostate health, and masculinization effects.

Free Testosterone

The biologically active form of testosterone not bound to proteins. Directly available for cellular uptake and biological effects.
