Long term Clomid use

Would long term use of clomid or enclomiphene harm bone thickness or structure from blocking the E2 receptors for a long period of time ?

The point of the "selective" in selective estrogen receptor modulator is that there can be different effects at different receptors. In the case of bone the effect of Clomid is actually agonistic instead of antagonistic. I can't paste it in at the moment, but take a look at the chart titled Tissue-specific estrogenic and antiestrogenic activity of SERMs at Wikipedia.

My experience with clomid over 5 years was a very slight increase in bone density.

So with enclomiphene you don’t have to worry about the increase in SHBG you would get from taking clomiphene ?

Correct. In another thread someone recently posted some research showing that. The implication is that the estrogenic zuclomiphene isomer of Clomid is responsible for stimulating additional SHBG production by the liver.

Oh cool!!Its good news for people like me who has low shbg. So bottomline, clomid or nolva will increase SHBG right?

In some cases, but others with very low SHBG have had no luck.
