Lithium

I'm interested in hearing about your experience with supplementing Lithium (orotate, aspartate etc).

Any feedback is appreciated.

I've been getting about a milligram daily of elemental lithium via lithium orotate for some years now. I can't claim any very noticeable effects, but it seems worthwhile to take due to the positive associations and claimed protective effects.

I didn't read in depth about it and started taking 0.25mg Li orotate (liquid) in the morning. I felt like it makes me a bit tired. I then read up on potential biochemical effects and the potential GABAergic effect made sense. Now taking it in the evening.

Did any of you with tendency to depressive mood noticed any change?

It sounds like it's a medication? Where are you buying it from?
It can be a medication in high doses for bipolar.
Here in this context it's about supplementing single digit mg (about 1mg). We have various small amounts in our water etc. So far lithium is not regarded essential but there is academic discussion about it and whether a small amount is beneficial.
...the video linked above explains it much better...

I see both safe labs and reliable RX have lithium

This isn't necessarily relevant and could get people into trouble. Some of these products contain 450 mg of lithium carbonate per tablet. Lithium carbonate is about 19% lithium, so you're talking about 85 mg of lithium. In contrast, this thread is talking about doses ranging from around 0.3 mg to 1 mg daily. Lithium orotate is only about 4% lithium by weight. Lithium orotate as a supplement is often found as 120 mg tablets that contain 5 mg of elemental lithium each. These can be quartered to get closer to the recommended range.
