Libido Problem

A little background info.

I have a pituitary tumor, diagnosed in 2018. Been on TRT since 2019. On thyroid meds, and cortisol is ok. I've been taking HGH .4 once a day for 2 months roughly. Its killing my libido, and I dont understand why. I took HGH a year ago, and the same thing happen, and I stopped and my libido came back. I actually need the HGH, cause I failed a stim test, and my endocrinologist prescribed me Genotropin. Prolactin is normal, and I even took some cabergoline anyway, just to see if it helped. I also tried a AI, small dosage ,25 Anastrazole, and nothing helped. I cant understand why HGH does this to me, and when I stop it, my libido comes back.

Estrogen is at 30 ultrasensitive

Testosterone is at a 920

No recent labs on Free test or SBHG but these are always in range, including the last time I had this problem.

Free T4 is 1.5
Free T3 is 4.1
TSH is non irrelevant in my case

Cortisol is a 9 in the monring

IGF-1 last test was a 161

Prolactin was a 5

CBC and CMP labs are normal

A1C is a 5.4

How much HGH are you taking? 0.4 is not a dosage, it's volume. It doesn't tell us how much you are actually taking.


HGH can actually activate prolactin receptor, so too much can negatively affect libido. It can increase libido at the right dosage.


Also, what thyroid meds and dosages are you on?

I know a few guys who do HGH and they too have been affected with low libido. Some of them actually have admitted that their penis has shrunk and their testicles have dropped. But they seem to want to look big and jacked and accept the consequences. I would presume it is a choice of priority. My self, I would take nothing that cut my libido but that is my preference. There are always alternatives .

Generally properly dosed HGH will increase erection strength and can increase libido. There is a sweet spot just like with other hormones. That is one likely reason young men and teens have strong erections and morning wood, IGF/HGH

yep, agreed. its when one ages and thinks just a bit more will increase my progress and they do not follow correct dosing. I see it all the time, increase the HGH, increase the T, double up on the supplements..... they want quick action and do not realize the consequences...

Im not looking for quick action. All of my meds are prescribed by a endo, due to my pituitary not functioning. I am simply replacing!

0.4 of Nordotropin is basically 1 IU. Synthroid 112 mcg. T3 and T4 all optimal.

You ever try a higher dose to get your IGF into the 200s-300s? Generally takes 2-3 IU
