Lab Results-follow up to check DHT level

Hi all, I am not and never was on TRT but here are my lab results for my follow up lab with Defy. Everything looks good to me except my high SHBG. Even though my SHBG is high my free test is at 21. My question though, is that 21 free test level not available for my body to use since my SHBG is high or is it that even though my SHBG is high my free testosterone is still good for my body to use?

Your somewhat low estrogen stands out since our estrogen is converted out our free T, sometimes when estrogen is low our free T is also low. So in your case the low estrogen is connected to the low free T. Your free T when calculating Total T and SHBG comes to 11.4 ng/dL = 1.61 % with 2-3 percent being normal. Directly measuring free T is not really reliable do to the very short half life, an hour later it could be low.

You shouldn't have any problems getting TRT from a knowledgeable doctor, however most doctors wouldn't think anything is wrong as they would focus on your TT and would shrug their shoulders at your barely low estrogen never connecting the dots.....

Ya I’m trying to stay away from the TRT route though at my age. I wish there something that could lower SHBG other than testosterone .

If your SHBG was lower your Total T would be lower with it. Maybe Estrogen goes up and the feedback loop cuts down T production. Its a balance where your body wants to be and probably the only way to change it is with TRT. You never said what the problem is your trying to correct. If you feel good you don't need to do anything.
