Just got tested

Hi all, just wanted to introduce myself. I'd like to begin a healing journey and will be looking for advice as I go.

I'm a 36 year old with many of the symptoms of Low T (low libido, poor self confidence, mental clarity, low energy, sleep disturbances). I also have some symptoms related to HPA disfunction- particularly sleep disturbances and exaggerated stress response.

I got my testosterone tested and came back with 391 ng/mL (348-1197) total and 6.0 pg/mL (8.7-25.1) free. The total is technically low normal but the free is definitely low.

I'm wondering what folks recommend as how to go forward. I have an appointment scheduled for a physical with my doctor. Do I look to go to an endocrinologist or a testosterone specialist like defy medical.

After being on this forum for six months and reading the posts, it has become obvious that it can be very hard to find a doctor and or an endocrinologist that is up to snuff on TRT therapy, I even found this out with the doctor that put me on TRT. It became evident after starting TRT and educating myself that I needed to change doctors. I have changed to Defy and could not be happier. The people at Defy are great and there prices are quite reasonable.

Understanding Your Hormones

Estradiol (E2)

DHT

Free Testosterone

The biologically active form of testosterone not bound to proteins. Directly available for cellular uptake and biological effects.
