Had my yearly blood work done for lipid panel.
This was my result of my test last year:
Total Cholesterol = 256 (High)
Triglycerides= 158 (High)
HDL= 32 (low)
LDL= 192 (high)
I lost weight and started back up with steady state cardio in my program.
This was my test for this year:
Total Cholesterol= 186 (normal)
Triglycerides= 171 (high)
HDL= 23 (low) >> in his words "alarmingly low!"
LDL= 129 (high)
The doctor who prescribes me the TRT basically said that these values aren't too bad but he would like me to lose weight and see if we can control triglycerides. My family physician wants to put me on statins and more or less tells me I am going to die young with these values (in softer words). He flat out asked me if I was abusing steroids (I gained A LOT of muscle mass in the last 2 yrs) and advised me to stop whatever I am taking.
Looking back on my blood work prior to starting TRT my Triglycerides were in the range of around 100-120, my LDL was always slightly over 100 and my HDL was always in the 30's (still low).
I do not know what to believe.
