Hi,

I am almost 54 yrs, 6’1”, 185#, caucasian, an occasional social drinker, a non smoker, and exercise pretty regularly.

I’m attaching two pages of a blood work up that I had requested two years ago when I was almost 52 years old.

At the time, I had mentioned to my physician about feeling a bit lethargic, tired quite a bit, some concentration issues - a bit of a brain fog, not sleeping well, and the low sex drive, a bit of difficulty achieving erections and even sustaining them.

He ordered some blood tests on me, and reluctantly added testing my testosterone levels when I told him I would like that tested as well.

Although not the standard tests that I have read about within Excelmale, I am wondering if anyone can see anything that might be worth mentioning. The test does list Albumin & Globulin levels as well as Free Testosterone levels, some cholesterol info, but no mention of total testosterone levels, or PSA levels.

My physician said according to the test results, everything was fine with my testosterone levels, and in looking at the levels and the preferred ranges on the attached test results, it indicated that I am not suffering from low testosterone, yet two years later the symptoms haven’t improved.

Over the last two years I have tried a myriad diet changes, exercise routines, supplements on, supplements off, and really all to no avail. Really just looking for a bit of feedback, and perhaps a bit of advice.

Thanks much.

Defy Medical TRT clinic doctor
Find a new doctor (if you are in the United States you should consider Defy Medical, with whom I am not associated). You need a full hormone work-up - including thyroid. Did your doctor even consider/discuss the possibility that, with your symptoms, you might be dealing with thyroid problems? Your free testosterone, in isolation, is interesting, but not diagnostic. If you simply want to get some basic data, pull the tests yourself at Discountedlabs.com.

Sorry to be negative, but what you encountered with this doctor is all too typical.

No negativity perceived, and do appreciate the reply and the advice it contained.

I did spend most of last night going through the Thyroid related threads, and reading quite a bit on the web as well. It does appear that there are some troubled thyroid symptoms that I have that do mirror low T as well.

There were quite a few other troubled thyroid related symptoms that I do not have as well, perhaps even more than I do have. But based upon your recommendation I will be asking my new physician to run full hormone work-up - including thyroid, as well as everything else.

Now off to search a bit more to see if the ranges listed above were for a 52 yr old, or just the male species in general.

Thanks again for everything,.
