Hi,

Is it possible to have Free testosterone above lab ranges and still having high E2?

My readings are

Total T 850
Free T 250
SHBG 19

Thanks for any insights. (btw, I am going to check my E2, but just curious if the above can give any indication or lead on what to expect).

Absolutely is. On 30mg EOD my Free T was 34 (5-21 range) and my E2 was 60 (8-35 range). This usually happens with guys who have low SHBG. Although I didnt have mine tested i suspect it is low, meaning most of the T we inject is not binded (free) and converts rapidly to metabolites E2 and DHT. Feel like shit with this high of E2, so I backed down my dose a bit and added .25mg AI 1x per week. Still feeling like high & low E2 symptoms so I will have to do some bloodwork, starting to think TRT wont work for us low SHBG guys

Understanding Your Hormones

Estradiol (E2)

A form of estrogen produced from testosterone. Important for bone health, mood, and libido. Too high can cause side effects; too low can affect well-being.

DHT

Dihydrotestosterone is a potent androgen derived from testosterone. Affects hair growth, prostate health, and masculinization effects.

Free Testosterone

The biologically active form of testosterone not bound to proteins. Directly available for cellular uptake and biological effects.
