High BLood Pressure, Can’t figure it out. Help

Hello all,
Having an issue with high BP and trying to figure this about. I have been on TRT for about 14 months now. I’m on 80mg of Test cypionate twice per week (160mg total) and 500IU of HCG twice per week (1,000IU total). Blood work shows normal Hemoglobin (15.6g/dL), Hematocrit (47.6%), total Test (1328ng/dL) a day before injection, free T (34.9pg/mL), Estradiol sensitive (48.9pg/mL), and SHBG (37.3nmol/L). I know I’m running a bit higher than normal, but I feel great at this level. Libido, muscle gains, well being is fantastic. No side effects from the Estradiol (i.e. water retention, gyno) and I don’t take an AI. However, my BP is at 150/90 most times. That concerns me, although, I don’t feel anything wrong like headaches or dizziness, etc. Some time ago, I remember someone talking about the type of oil used in the Esther possibly causing high BP. Is there any truth to that? Can’t find that post anymore. My test cyp is cut with cottonseed oil. I really don’t remember having any issues with high BP. I’m afraid to take an AI and crash my E2. Any recommendations will be greatly appreciated. I don’t to cardio, but I never miss a lifting workout. I’m pretty lean at 13% BF. Eat fairly well with low sugar, plenty of veggies and lean proteins plus fish oils. Supplement with D3, multi, and sodium, potassium and magnesium. Don’t know where the issue could be. I’m afraid my doctor wants to give me BP meds. I don’t want to go that route. Thanks.

INdeed pretty high numbers but you like it and other this BP issue, seems good for you.

Kyolic(?) or aged garlic can be good for BP, also try 800mg Magnesium. Or some Nitric oxide type donor supplements like Arginine or Citrulline. How are erections for you? Any thing used like Cialis or Viagra?

I was thinking to increase my magnesium and potassium a bit more. I will try that. I’m currently not using any nitric oxide supplements nor am I using Cialis or Viagra. So far erections have been good. I was reading a bit how possibly beet root powder may help with high BP too. Haven’t tried it either. I’m jus trying to figure out the root cause.
Thanks for the reply.

I suffer from BP, but salt is the main culprit. When I was fighting my BP while only on 20 mg benicar it ran no lower than 155/95. I now take 5mg cialis for NO along with citruliine d malate, beta alanine, 1/4 tsp baking soda and apple cider vinegar every morning. I also upped my magnesium level to 1250mg mag-malate 3xD, and it has settled back in at 117/60

Just curious, how much sodium were you taking? How about now? I know some folks are more sensitive to sodium than others, but before TRT I did a ketogenic diet and I had to consume at least 5,000mg of sodium. My BP was perfect. So I figured I’m not sensitive. After starting TRT, I did Keto again for a few months and did the same thing with the sodium. But this time my BP did not budge. So I am under the impression it is because of TRT, I just don’t know what. HCT and hmg look fine, E2 is not giving me side effects to conclude that I have some type of water retention issue. I’m more vascular and lean than ever. So I’m confused.
Thanks for the reply.

So, do you think is worth trying an AI even though I don’t have any other effects? Crashing my E2 scares me more than the high BP.
How about things like a DIM supplement?
Thanks

Nope, I think it's best to just lower the dosage.

I don't tolerate AI's well, I'm extremely fatigued even though E2 isn't low, I experience the AI side effects separate of what it does to my E2 levels.

Which is more scary to you, lower your dosage or crashing your estrogen?

It could take months to recovered from damaged joints from crashing your E2.

High blood pressure long term is damaging to your health, kind of defeats the purpose of living an optimal life.

DIM does nothing for me when E2 is above ranges, if you get E2 20-30 perhaps you may notice a difference using DIM.

Ah, I see. I will try a lower dosage and see how it goes. I’m currently at 160mg per week. By how much should it be reduce to notice a difference?

I would go down to 60mg twice weekly, I don't think any less will make big changes to your situation. You will most definitely still be high normal at this dosage.

Thanks for the recommendation. By the way, did you ever see the posts about the oil in the test possibly being a caused for high BP? I can’t find it anymore. Someone had said that they changed from cottonseed to grapeseed and lowered their BP. I think a couple of folks said that.

I don’t know if you mentioned your age. High blood pressure is a serious concern. Most likely caused by the high E2. Have you ever tried anastrazole?

I’m 43 years young. I have never used an AI and was only going to use if I ever had a side effect. Which I never did. I’m talking about things as water retention, gynecomastia, etc. But is higher E2 related to high blood pressure if water retention is not an issue?

Lots of people have BP frpom lots of different problems. I would bypass the GP, ask for a referal to a kidney speacilist.

I will consider this. I have been keeping an eye on my kidney function via blood work and all levels are normal and within range on that aspect. But I’m definitely still concerned for the long term.

In addition to lowering the overall weekly dose, going to 3x weekly injections would reduce spikes in blood levels, which can help reduce conversion of T to E

I’ll think about this one. I’m struggling injecting twice as it is. Lol. I’m a chicken. After 14 months you would think I would be used to it already. I’m using a 27ga 1/2” and think that hurts. Smh.

You could switch to subQ injections. I’ve been doing this for 3+ years and have never felt the slightest sensation. Yes, high E2 can cause bp issues without causing bloating. Many with high bp have it because vessels are constricted which has nothing to do with water retention. Low dose cialis really reduces my bp.

Hello all,
Having an issue with high BP and trying to figure this about. ...

I don’t to cardio, but I never miss a lifting workout.

Well, start doing a lot more cardio. Unless you are professional competitor in body building or weight lifting, why exclude cardio?

My BP got to 150/90 in 2014, now it's 112/76. I do about 60/40 cardio / weight lifting. Some weeks it goes 90/10, sometimes 10/90. Today I went for an hour outside on rolling hills on a bike, then mowed the lawn after getting back.

I googled everything that might help lower BP, so I take magnesium, cocaco powder with my coffee, aged black garlic, boron, Vit D, vitamin K2, all thought to help lower BP. But I think the cardio is most effective.

Locally I took a calcium score test, it was only $50, that might indicate a problem. It was cheap and I was curious.

I am 66.

I had the same issue as you when I started TRT. I’ve always had perfect blood pressure, in great shape, and eat healthy. I noticed your E2 is 48.9. That’s pretty high. Especially since your SHBG isn’t that high. My blood pressure was 160/90 at it’s worst and had E2 even higher than you. As soon as I started taking an AI regularly and got my E2 into the 20-30 range I had perfect blood pressure almost instantly. I’m no doctor but, I would be pretty confident to say that your high estrogen and lack of an AI is causing your BP issues.
