When I was on topical I had to watch my hct level and donate blood every 2 to 3 months consistently. Switched to inj and the hct seems to have stabilized and I havint had to donate blood to control hct in the last 6 months
Some of us are starting to see a stabilization of HCT 1-2 years in to injections. I've been experiencing it myself having had to donate a few times and then my HCT staying low or rising much less in fact I need to check mine again. Im not sure I've heard a difference in topicals as most of us here anyway, move pretty quickly off topicals if not avoiding them all together.
Thsi post contains an excellent overview of the issue. The author states that about 20 percent of topical patients may develop problems with hematocrit.
