HCG side effects

I've been on hCG mono for a little over 2 months. My latest labs showed a dramatic increase in TT and FT. E2 and other levels were fine. Despite all of that, I have gained 10-15lbs. I do workout 6 days a week, I meal prep and track macros and caloric intake. I've had all that dialed in for at least a month now. I didn't really eat bad before starting. I don't drink, though I might have a glass of wine or some whiskey on occasion. I drink a lot of water, no soda or juices. I sweat like I'm running a marathon through a rain forest while wearing a wool suit. All the weight or bloating appears to be in my abdomen. I'm pretty vascular and defined in my arms and legs. I was expecting to lose weight, not gain. And I've seen no increase in muscle size or strength so I don't think it's muscle growth.

Does anyone have any ideas of what may be causing this. TIA!

Have you had your estradiol levels checked, using the sensitive estradiol test for men. I wonder if your levels have risen and you are retaining water.

Have you run a full thyroid panel? The whole thing that started my HRT process was the fact that I cut calories down to 2,000 per day, ended up losing 15 pounds in the process all while getting weaker. The most disappointing thing was that I literally lost size in my arms and legs while not losing squat around my midsection.

What was the verdict? Hypothyroidism. Here it is 8 months later and fat loss has been extremely slow even with the thyroid medication.

Had blood drawn last Monday. Waiting on results. My doctor is nothing more than board certified drug dealer. I believe I'm hypo as well. The only thing that throw it all off is the fact that I sweat like a mother fugger. I get out of the shower, get dressed and need another shower just from getting dressed. Short of twisting her arm, she gave me lab slips for T4, T3, TSH, RT3, cortisol, dhea-s, and regular cbc. I wanted FT3 and FT4 but she down plays my symptoms and hands me a rx for Adderral and cholesterol meds. I don't take cholesterol meds but I do take Adderral as needed. 30 pills lasts me 3 months......

I just had an EKG for a pre-employment physical and it was abnormal due to inverted T waves. Did a stress test and passed. Went through the same pre-employment physical in August 2017 and EKG was fine. I don't know if there's any connection. I've been feeling like shit for 10 years. Don't feel much better after hCG. A coworker said he quit smoking years ago and it caused him to have a thyroid issue, according to his doctor. I've never heard of that sort of thing until he told me that. I quit smoking 9 years ago. I'm just at the end of my rope here.....

Thanks for the replies

Are you feeling any better?

I am feeling much better now. Between the new protocol started last month and the fact that I had low DHEA (it was 77 and I have been taking 50 mg per day to get it higher), I feel great now! The thyroid medication may be adjusted after labs in a couple of weeks, but I will cross that bridge when I get to it.

The protocol I have been on since last month is:
80 mg testosterone cypionate every 3.5 days
500 iU HCG every 3.5 days
.125 mg Anastrozole every 3.5 days
50 mg DHEA daily
120 mg NPThyroid every day

I'm considering asking about synthetic T3 and T4 just in case there is another natural desiccated thyroid issue again.
