HCG is more than a LH mimicker

hCG associated with factors know to promote cancer

"one potential concern, especially at higher dosages in older men, could be stimulation of Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor and angiogenesis... simulates vascularity and tissue growth..."

" The problem is that VEGF in older individuals (and angiogenesis) is associated with the initiation and spread of cancer. [2][3] Cancers are the kings of unstoppable growth and feed off of VEGF..." [1]

Great. Who is an "older man"? What are "higher doses"? How do we make a decision on whether to continue or quit? No one has discussed this risk factor with me before.

Likely from the same great folks that think 200mg every two weeks is good for you and or use of Testosterone will give you a heart attack.

Re-ride,

Help a brother out. I read then searched the linked document but could find no mention of hcg.
Torrential, Item #4 on the the Peak Testosterone piece which is the subject of Nelson's post claims increased VEGF production and angiogenesis and that these "are associated with increased incidence and spread of cancer in older individuals".

I have not looked at the supporting studies. Those I've glanced over involve human tumor cell lines grown on mice, then injected with hCG harvested and analyzed. Mr. Cheney was playing with aluminum tubes that day which he claimed were used for enrichment of weapons grade uranium. Therefore we have another association with these cancer cells growing faster on mice legs.

A search on cancer + hCG returns lots of studies, many involving mammalian breasts cells. I'm unable to quantify risk to men from this work at this time.

How much VEGF is produced, distribution, dosages of hCG required and more will be required to link cancer in men to hCH.

I think we can advise with high confidence that you probably do not want to graft tumor cells on the legs of your pet mice and inject them with hCG. More information is required for men using hCG to assess their own risk.

Understanding Your Hormones

Estradiol (E2)

A form of estrogen produced from testosterone. Important for bone health, mood, and libido. Too high can cause side effects; too low can affect well-being.

DHT

Dihydrotestosterone is a potent androgen derived from testosterone. Affects hair growth, prostate health, and masculinization effects.

Free Testosterone

The biologically active form of testosterone not bound to proteins. Directly available for cellular uptake and biological effects.
