Fertility Question - HCG/HMG

All men in the Lipshultz study did not have LH and FSH. That was the most amazing thing: TRT + HCG could increase intra testicular testosterone enough to enable sperm production. It seems that Leydig cells need a certain amount of testosterone inside the testicles to produce sperm even in the absence of FSH (HCG really acts as a LH mimicker, so you actually have an LH-like peptide in your blood when using HCG)

Why is it good to take HCG with testosterone replacement?

Nelson,

I have read many of your post and I see that you recommend the lipschultz study to preserve fertility often. I had a sperm analysis done 4 months ago and it came back at zero. My dr took me off trt and put be on hcg (500 iu 3x a week) with clomid (50mg ed)for 3 months. I recently came off clomid because it was affecting my quality of life and I just have been continuing with hcg. I really have not felt myself since stopping trt, would it be possible to regain fertility on trt (140mg weekly) with hcg and hmg?

My dr is not willing to do another sperm analysis for 2 more months.

Understanding Your Hormones

Estradiol (E2)

A form of estrogen produced from testosterone. Important for bone health, mood, and libido. Too high can cause side effects; too low can affect well-being.
