Hello,
My name is John and I am new to this forum. I am so grateful to have found it and I have already learned a lot by reading other's posts.
I have been dealing with the symptoms of Low "T" for 18 months but have only been treated for the last 6 months. I started with a Family practice PCP who wasted no time prescribing Androgel 1%. However, his work up was less than stellar and he refused to treat the side effects of the treatment he started me on. He then referred me to an Endocrinologist and I thought I would be in expert hands. Boy was I wrong. That guy was a friggin idiot. Again he doubled my "T" gel and then refused to treat the side effects. When I asked about adding HCG to reverse the atrophy I, and my girlfriend, were seeing he said he didn't do that. He said if I wanted that I should go to a hormone clinic???? I blew a fuse at that remark and laid into him. It ended with me calling him a string of obscenities and suggesting if he was only going to dispense androgel only and see his patients every 6 months, he should stop doing TRT. This is supposed to be specialist in the endocrine system.
At last, all that nastiness is behind me. I have found and excellent provider in Norfolk Va., close o my house and he is well versed in Male and Female HRT.
He has tweaked my treatment and has me on 150 of Testosterone Cypionate a week as well as 250iu of HCG E3D and Anastrozole as my Estradiol went through the roof thanks to the 2 providers that jacked my Androgel dose without anything else. I am going easy on the AI.
I am feeling much better and I know I will continue to get better. My energy level is coming back to where I feel like going back to the gym and I am not worn out at the end of a 12 hour work day. No more 5 hour energy drinks to get through the day and no more terrible depression.
I guess that was a long winded intro but I think a common experience of men today looking to their PCP or urologist. I work in the Operating Room and I asked several Urologists if they did TRT and they to a man said yes. When I asked if they used HCG or and AI they all said no. How can you manipulate only 1 Hormone and not treat the effects of manipulating that hormone??
I am looking forward to learning from the more experienced members and if I can help in anyway, I would be glad.
Thanks,
John T.
