Giving up on TRT after 5 years

After 5 years of HRT/TRT I'm packing it in. I now have BPH, I'm on a statin and repatha, I take cialis and an alpha blocker... testosterone and hcg, occasionally arimidex. The thing is that I didn't need any of these drugs 6 years ago before I started TRT so why am I on them now?

I bought into the fact that TRT could "fix metabolic issues" and it's "low testosterone that causes the prostate to grow" etc and since I began TRT, I have wrecked my cholesterol and I can barely pee.

I've become a walking polypharmacy. The libido swings... tinkering with HCG doses, daily injects vs weekly vs 2X per week... all the bloodwork. I'm just tired and getting sicker and wondering how this became a full time ordeal instead of a weekly medicine that just runs in the background. I just started my high HCG doses before I begin SERM therapy and the crazy thing is I feel fantastic now after this burst of HCG lol.

Anyone else feel like this? Like it's just become an unhealthy hassle all to hold and extra 10-20 pounds of muscle in the gym?

I had sub 300ng/dl testosterone before TRT but I could function fine. I began TRT bc I wasn't sure what if I was "supposed to feel this way" or not. I do have way less aches and pains and weigh 30 extra pounds at the same bodyfat but I'm just tired of it. Perhaps I will continue the HCG montherapy if I am still feeling great in 2 weeks and drop everything else I can't say. I'm sure everyone is going to ask me what the hell happened and if I'm sick when I show up in 3 months with a skinny neck and weight 30 less pounds.

I suppose we will know in about 3 months whether I'm itching to get back on or I can live with it.

Just a rant.

Thank you for sharing your experience. Seems like you got all the possible side effects of (super physiological testosterone) TRT.

Understanding Your Hormones

Estradiol (E2)

Free Testosterone

The biologically active form of testosterone not bound to proteins. Directly available for cellular uptake and biological effects.
