Frequency of PSA

Hi Guys
My Endo says a PSA test every 5 years while taking Testosterone is enough, is he right ? Or should it be more often than that.
Thanks all

As mentioned age and family history would play into the call. A 5 year window seems long. That sounds more like a colonoscopy time line (not trying to be funny). Looking at some of my medical records the first PSA test I had was when I was 47. May have had one prior but I don't have any medical records back farther, and I had no family history. PSA test is cheap insurance.

Yearly is cheap insurance:)
You also have a yearly record and you can see any rise from year to year. And if there is a large spike you can address that ASAP. Other flag is rate of rise that can be tracked yearly also.

FOR U.K. Guys;
When first starting TRT, your bloods are taken every 6 weeks to ensure correct TRT levels and also to keep an eye on PSA.
.
After 18 weeks - 3 tests, you go onto being tested every 3 months for 1 year (4 tests)
.
You are then moved onto every 6 months (if all bloods are satisfactory) - 2 tests
.
After that it is suggested you are tested every year, I objected to this and requested every 6 months and my GP is happy to do this.
