For the Thyroid Gurus - A question about these lab values

Hey Guys,

I have some labs values for Thyroid that fall within the reference range but I have symptoms (have always had these) like:

dry skin
pulse below 70 sometimes
morning basal temperature below 97.8 oF or 36.5 oC
cold hands or feet when others feel fine
constipation (if I don't consume tons of raw veggies)

Here are the values:

T3 (ECLIA) 1.76 nmol/L 1.30~3.10
T4 (ECLIA) 100.10 nmol/L 66.00~181.00
FT3 (ECLIA) 5.34 pmol/L 2.80~7.10
FT4 (ECLIA) 17.54 pmol/L 12.00~22.00
TSH (ECLIA) 1.530 uIU/mL 0.27~4.20

Does anything look off? I know that T3 should be a bit higher according to this page: http://www.tiredthyroid.com/optimal-labs.html

Thanks for any feedback

You'd be hard pressed to convince a Doc to prescribe thyroid meds with those labs. If you went to an alternative doc, and let him do a full workup to rule out any other causes for the symptoms, he might let you trial a low dose of NDT.

In the mean time you may want to consider supplementing with iodine, selenium and tyrosine. I'm not a fan of the huge doses of iodine that Dr. Brownstein recommends. I think that 1/2 of an iodoral tablet should be the max, but there are people taking up to 50mg with apparently no ill effect.
