Hey fellas I knew switching to injections I would be here a bunch but I injected two hours ago (my first) and now I feel a bit lightheaded. Kind of like I did when I used to take hydroxycut and the original xeneadrine.

I am a paramedic thus not afraid of needles or getting poked so this is not psyc haa. Is it normal?

Also it was 100mg test/cyp

your dose is a typical measurement and the fact that it is cypionate which is a longer acting ester, metabolized in about 7 days, it is not usual to have that of reaction unless you have some sensitivity to the suspension, cottonseed or sesame seed oils which you were not aware of ..........hmmmm

It could have been a number of things just bad timing. It just seemed like it could have been. I have felt fine today so I will see how Sunday goes I guess. I scorned the interwebs looking for this and all I found was steroid sites talking about it which are completely useless.

Most guys said ahhh enjoy the rush bla bla .

Testosterone esters take days to be cleaved so getting a reaction within hours is highly unlikely and probably just coincidence.

Enjoy as your life is about to change...for the good!

Glad you replied Gene. I figured it had to be a coincidence but figured I would ask.

I am really excited man I hope that it sorts itself out this time. The gel was such a grind and I can already tell you that the injections are so much easier. I dont have to worry about exposure to my wife or kids and the every day with the gel was very very tedious and hard to remember.

On another note it is now Saturday morning and my right thigh feels like someone punched me in it haa. I dont want to sound like a wuss because I am far from that but does the soreness tend to return after every injection or does it taper off? I am going to have my wife inject in my glut Sunday to see how that goes but I cannot reach my butt easily haaa so thigh was all I could do. I am 5'8'' and 230 lbs with pretty big arms that are also short so its thigh or shoulder if I am doing my own.

I only inject in the glutes for years and never once had a problem...not once.

Injection site inflammation can happen no matter where you inject but I think the glutes are the best for me.

What size needle do you inject with Gene? My thighs are 29 inches and contrary to my upper body they are muscular and I used a 22g 1 1/2 inch needle. I am thinking I went too deep honestly.

you can definitely try another size, I use 27g...........and maybe inset no more than a half inch..........glute or thigh

Well, an inch and a half is too long for the quads for sure and surprised you didn't hit bone.

22g is also pretty big...for me that is.

I use a 27g inch and a quarter for my glutes and it does fine.

Try hitting your glutes at a target point where the upper right side of your jean pocket would be located see if you don't get a better result.

There are great injection instructional videos on the site that can help you as well.

Yea I am a paramedic so I am good with the locations but I had been told that the fluid was too thick for anything smaller than a 22g. I definitely went too deep though. Took "deep IM" literally haa. Ill try a 27 today when I do it.

If you are injecting less than 1 ml, gauge sizes up to 27 work pretty well. It takes a while to load up testosterone but not horribly much.

I used a 27g the last two injections and had my wife do my glute. It is much better with no follow up soreness. It does take a bit to load it up so I may try a 25g.

I've just started this, only injected 4 times, 50mg Test-Cyp, but also feel a bit lightheaded every time.

25g, 5/8", tried 3 sites: belly fat, shoulder, quads. Same results, lightheadedness lasts a couple hours.

Any history, diagnosed or not, with any kind of anxiety?

Yes. But I’m not needlephobic. I’ve been looking forward to injection day but since this is new there could be mixed adrenaline and anxiety that I’m perceiving as excitement. However, the lightheadedness kicks in right after injection, it builds like a slow wave.

I think for some people that is to be expected. It is not normal to stick a needle in your body and in response your body can have a reaction of pulling blood from the extremities causing what you describe. Some people even pass out or faint. As you do it more and more you will get accustomed to it and the reaction will fade away. I was the same way when I started and now it is a non-event, kinda like brushing my teeth now. Most things in life are like that. Everyone is different.

I concur. Very unlikely it's the T itself, could be the carrier, do you know which you're using? Cottonseed, Grapeseed, or Sesame seed oil? Unlikely, but could be.

Also, I agree that it's likely a psychosomatic response to self-injecting, even with your clinical experience. In medic school did you stick yourself with an IV and have a similar reaction? Or was that fine?

Beyond Testosterone Book by Nelson Vergel
I've experienced something similar a few times after injecting, but it stopped happening after the first 2 months.

I used to inject within an hour or two before bed for my second injection of the week, and occasionally I would get a surge of energy and adrenaline while trying to fall asleep that would keep my up for an additional 4-5 hours regardless of how many sleeping aids I took. Not fun.

I'm not sure if it was a psychological or physical response, but it stopped happening a couple of months into TRT.
