Dear Valued Patients,
We have been alerted by Empower Pharmacy that as of October 2nd, 2023, they will no longer ship sterile compounded medications such as testosterone into the state of California.
This change includes all compounded injectable medications. However, this does not include non-sterile medications such as creams, capsules and oral disintegrating tablets (ODTs).
If you need a prescription refill, the final date to submit it to us will be Thursday, September 28, 2023.
You can order through your patient portal or contact patient services at [email protected] or 813-445-7342 for assistance. Please keep in mind that for controlled medications you can not refill more than 2-3 weeks early due to federal laws and may not be eligible to refill at this time. However, we will do our best to help all eligible patients.
Additionally, for some prescribed medications, there are commercial brand name equivalents available. Patients are encouraged to speak to their providers at their next consult to make any necessary changes to their treatment plans.
Staying Connected:
Our pharmacy vendors work to ensure that their services comply with all necessary regulatory requirements.
We understand that this is a significant change, and we are working diligently to source pharmacy vendors that can fulfill your sterile medication orders. We will keep you updated with any solutions to this issue.
Warm Regards,
The Defy Medical Team
