Dr wants to cut my TRT dosage

Hi everyone, I am 10 weeks in on Test cyp inj 1ml one time per week I started out at 288 total T. My new BW taken 1 day before next T injection showed my total T at 768 so my Dr told me to cut my dose in half to .50ml per week. Dr said once you get your T up it does not take as much to keep it there. Does this make any sense to anyone. This really upsets me because I was really feeling good on the 1ml injections. Any comments appreciated By the way Tri-mix rocks

It makes no sense at all what he told you.

And a serum level of 768 at trough is very nice indeed.

Got to tell you thought; 1 ml is equal to 200 mg and that dose is at the highest levels we see in TRT.

What did the rest of your BW look like?

There is some tweaking of dosage up down etc, while trying to hit your sweet spot....balance total T, estradiol, etc. sometimes less is more and balance is key


Thats said Gene is correct mid-700's is a good number assuming your other numbers are also good. Additionally yes, 200mg even if you have really low SHBG, is a really high dosage. I would confirm dosage and supply your other numbers too

Agree totally with what's already been stated! Your doctor is into treating numbers, not patients! I had an endo once tell me that anything above 600ng/dl wasn't good and could be dangerous! The only thing dangerous is depending on those types to manage our hormones. At least my GP was up front and honest, saying she wasn't overly familiar with HRT, and she was all for me going to an HRT specialist. Sadly, too many egos get in the way. Hell, we had a post on here the other night where the member's physician told him to stop reading the Internet!! It's just messed up!

Gene and SuperDutyDave I need to clarify my dose of T. I am on 1ml of Depo Cyp 100mg per week. I forgot to get the rest of my BW but Dr did not say there was any other problems. I am also on 1mg tab of Anastrozole but dr would not prescribe Hcg so I ordered Hcg over the internet. I am injecting one half ml of hcg 2 day and 1 day before T shot. Dr said next BW will be 3 months. I don't know I am just bummed out about this. I got set up with Tri-Mix through Defy Medical, maybe I should just contact Defy for TRT also, just not sure what to do.

You just answered your own question!! Bingo, drop that guy like a bad habit and get your program on the right track. Also, tell that doctor you want your labs! They are yours and he can't sandbag them from you.

I would suggest you up your game with Defy. They understand and treat with the comprehensive approach including T, HCG arimidex etc.

When you are dialing in you need monthly labs....with multiple adjustments etc.

Your current doc seems lost on his approach........don't waste time You have relationship with Defy already just amp it up

My total T was high, but my free T was in normal range, so basically that is what he looked at to determine the dosage. My total T was 1397, but free T was good. So we left the dose the same. My friend works for Quest and he says that the machine can sometimes throw out incorrect number, so always good to at least get a couple before making any decisions.

Thanks everyone for your input. I have an app in 3 weeks with Dr and will try to get him to put my dose back to where It was. I already notice a difference in how I feel , less energy and libido in just one week. If not I will be on the phone with Defy.

Called Defy Medical today to put my TRT in their hands. Also while talking to Defy they told me that Dr Crisler is partnering with Defy Medical and their patients will have the option to be able to talk to Dr Crisler or Dr Saya. I am sure other people will have more input on this
