Does Cialis cause joint pain?

Hi everyone,
I have been taking the generic version of Cialis (Ceebis) for about a week now. My dosage has been 5mg per day. Since I started taking the pill I have noticed that my knee joints have started to ache. My heart tends to beat at irregular beats as well. At first I attributed this to possibly crashing my E2 with Arimidex. I started both medications on the same day which was last Wednesday. I have taken Arimidex 0.25mg on Wed, Fri, and Monday. My prescription calls to take it 2x per week on injection days. This week I'm spreading out my injections to Mon and Thurs. Last week I was trying out Mon, Wed, Fri for estrogen control purposes. On Monday I considered not taking it to see if my pain would subside. I felt great that morning, tons of energy, no pain, which I attributed to the fact that the medication was finally lessening in my body. Then I decided to take it anyways. My mood dipped, I got really short with people, and my energy was zapped. Slowly throughout the week I have started to feel better. Today though is Thursday and I'm still feeling joint pain, but the weird thing is I don't wake up with that feeling. I usually develop the joint pain right after I take my daily Cialis.

I have read that Cialis can cause headaches, backaches, and muscle aches, but I really haven't read anybody who commented that their joints ached. At this point I will remove one variable for at least another week to see which of the two medications are causing me joint pain. I will not take the Anastrozole for the remainder of this week and possibly the next week. If the pain does not subside then I will know its the Cialis. Has anybody else experienced joint knee pain on Ceebis (Cialis)? I certainly hope its not the Cialis causing the knee pain since I feel like it has helped with my ED, but I don't want to have knee problems when I never had them before. The last time I felt this knee joint pain was when I was in my 20's and had to stand all day working a retail job. I'm 42 now and have not had these pains at all. This has to be one of the two medications.

I'd bet money its the Anastrozole as that is a pretty hefty dose per week. it's also known to cause joint pain if e2 is lowered to low. What was your sensitive e2 at before starting an AI?

I’m pretty sure Ken is taking 0.25 mg dosages of anastrozole verse 25 mg based on other post/threads.

My sensitive E2 was at 39, but that was with my prior protocol; 100mg per week, two 50mg shots per week. E2 has always been on the high end for me. When I was at 150mg per week my E2 skyrocketed to 81. My new doctor at Defy recommended 0.25mg of an AI twice per week because I'm introducing this new protocol; two 70mg injections of testosterone cypionate per week plus three HCG 500 IU's injections per week along with 50mg of DHEA per day.

You are correct, only 0.25mg, not 25 mg of Anastrozole. I would have no bone density left if that were the dosage. I went back and corrected it.

That's what I had assumed. even .75mg weekly is a pretty substantial dose for most guys.
I took .75 mg in a span of 5 days. Technically I was following the doc's instructions since he said two .025 mg of Anastrozole per week, but I did not space them out correctly which more than likely dragged my E2 down. On a normal week I would take this dosage on a Monday morning and a Thursday evening. Last week I trying to split my dose up by M/W/F which is why it was not spaced out enough. I thought by today I would have recovered though which is why I'm wondering if it's the Ceebis, not the anastrozole. Only time will tell. Just wanting to see if anybody else had this side effect from Cialis.

only way to know is to get your e2 tested again and see where you're at.
Yes I was considering doing that on Saturday to see where the E2 levels currently lie. Oddly, Sunday and Monday morning were my best libido and morning erections since college. That's before I took the Monday morning dosage of Arimidex. The only reason I find this strange is that when I wake up in the morning I feel fine. My knees don't hurt. Today I noticed within 15 minutes of taking my Ceebis pill that the knee pain resumed.

This tells me your e2 is to low.

Really? Are you referring to my prescribed dosage of two 0.25 pills per week or are you referring to me taking .75 mg within a 5 day span?
I was referring to your dose of .25mg 2x weekly. I cannot recall without looking but I know my e2 was under 20 using only .125mg 2x weekly. I felt awful, moreso on the mental side of things but it certainly could be the cause of your joint pain.

Anastrozole is very powerful stuff!

Yes it is very powerful. I've noticed on both the Friday and Monday dosage that my energy level tanked, my mood soured, my libido and erections went away, and I was pretty short with everyone. Both times the joints started hurting. On Wednesday I didn't feel much of anything, Friday and Monday for sure I felt something went amiss. Cialis hasn't really been effective since Monday morning because my libido vanished. Before that I was like an animal searching for prey. Perhaps I shot past my E2 sweet spot. I don't know. It's looking more and more like its Arimidex causing this, not Cialis. How long will this take to get out of my system. Today is my injection day so hopefully it'll drive the E2 up.
