Disappointing first trip to Uro

Bi-mix was administered today in two doses with nearly zero results. I have an appointment next week to try Tri-mix.

Is this fairly atypical?

If you have ED and PDE5i's don't work you should have been tested with Trimix right out of the gate as it is much more powerful and easier to dial in the dose.

Trimix works in just about every man when dosed correctly.

BTW, I have been doing a ton of research on Trimix; here's what you should know.

Standard dose:

Papaverine - 30 mg
Phentolamine - 3 mg
PGE - 10 mcg (This can go as high as 100 mcg)

Of the three, Papaverine and Phentolamine control how long you will have an erection and the PGE (Prostaglandin) is what will provide you with erection "hardness" as it retards venous blood flow where the other two drugs relax the smooth muscle tissue in the penis allowing for a greater amount of blood to engorge the penis.

So does any good Tri-mix Doctor help you dial in the hardness part? My current Tri-mix while giving a long erection 30 + minutes with a 1 hour slow return to flaccid, doesn't seem to be up to snuff on the hardness side. I didn't even know that there was a way to adjust that part.

Yes Tom, to increase rigidity the Doc would need to increase the PGE dose.

My PGE dose is 100 mcg and I get a very hard erection

If you have your vial you can see how much of each is being used.

Mine shows tri-mix 10mcg/30mg/0.5mg/ML injectable, doesn't break down which is which. but I would say it is probably:

Papaverine - 30 mg
Phentolamine - .5 mg
PGE - 10 mcg

Seems like I will need to ask for an adjustment when I get next set, this is the second of two I got last time and left this one frozen till recently with no difference in effectiveness, even with the long term freeze in the dry state

Gene - Did you go through multiple variations with the Doctor before getting it worked out or was it more trial and error over time?

Your dose Tom is pretty much the standard trimix dose.

My Doc is an ED specialist and does nothing else. He gave me the standard dose in his office on my initial visit and evaluated the results...erection response and quality.

He than custom blended my trimix based on my personal results and what I was looking for and everything has been great since.

My PGE is much higher than yours at 100 mcg but from what I understand it's a mild drug so increases to 100 mcg is not a lot given how small the dose is as well...mcg is really small.

Yes most likely standard dose and it sounds like I will be getting it adjusted, so I have the better ridigity I am looking for.

Any idea why the Phentolamine was .5 versus the standard 3 you referenced?

I just know the two in combination work best for a longer erection.

If your Doc knows what he's doing he will hear how you are responding and what you want out of your trimix and make the appropriate adjustments.

If your Doc doesn't know what he's doing tell him what you want.

The right ED Doc is like having the right TRT Doc; they are specialists and see this stuff day in and day out...and I like that!

Those last three sentences are key in this process. I will work with the doc in January, might need to find a ED specialist soon in Northern VA area, since this is my GP but we will see what he says.
