Sticking to a calorie-restricted diet for 2 years improved overall quality of life (QOL), including mood, sleep quality, and sexual function in non-obese individuals, according to a small clinical trial.
In an intent-to-treat analysis, Corby Martin, PhD, of the Pennington Biomedical Research Center in Baton Rouge, and colleagues found that the calorie-restricted group showed the following improvements at 2 years versus a control group:

I think I do. As a younger guy I was so concerned with taking in as many good quality calories as I could to build muscle. Now every time I lift heavy, I seem to injure my elbow or shoulder or something. Now my training is far more focused on High Reps with perfect form and lightweight. I've also found desire to eat large calorie meals, even if they're good calories, has changed. I feel so much better eating fewer calories. Sleep, sex, everything is better.
