Bone/ joint growth, not arthritis - what is it?

Has anyone seen bone/ joint growth that’s painful and pops up in random areas on body? I’ve seen rheumatologist and no arthritis. It’s hard inflammation on joints and not sure if it’s bone growth or soft tissue growth. It’s sore and painful when it first appears then pain goes away but new growth still there, and I keep full range of motion. I have it on my hands, ankles, feet, knees and it’s usually bilateral. What could this be if all arthritis markers are negative? Hormonal imbalance?

High calcium, taking too much vitamin D.
