Anyone "eased" in to TRT

Just wondering if anyone has eased in to a protocol. Here's what I mean.
Goal is 50mg testosterone cypionate twice a week. Anyone start at 25mg twice a week as an introduction for two weeks, then go up to the 50mg twice aweek. You know, "Body, meet your new friend Testosterone. Big-T, this is the body."

Would a slower introductory period prevent body shock, E2 levels jumping too quickly, hormones in general getting a chance to calmly walk through the front door and take off their shoes instead of breaking it down and taking hostages in exchange for a helicopter ride to the Cayman.

Thoughts???

It can't hurt you to start by injecting 25mg/twice a week. At least you have a doctor who values multiple, smaller injections administered over the week. Just don't grow frustrated if you don't feel you are making progress on your initial protocol.

do you have any other labs to share? Total testosterone? SHBG?

Agree with CoastWatcher above. Also remember than not all guys are big E2 converters and many of us don't need to use an AI at all.

I started with gels and when to two one shot every two weeks, which didnt work. Now its .35ml twice a week and I feel great all the time. If I skip a dose I can really feel the difference. I also take HCG and DHEA daily. I do not take any AI at all.

I saw my estradiol rising after being stable for some time. It went to 55 from 27 in seven weeks. I went to multiple, small weekly injections and dropped it back to 36 where it feels comfortable. No AI.

25 mg twice per week will leave you hypogonadal or even lower T than you had before TRT.

This "ease into TRT" is used a lot with gels and it really leaves the patient frustrated having to wait 8 weeks for a follow up and potential dose increase.

I believe that I have been eased in, although my doctor probably thinks that there is a "one size fits all". I take 60 mg of Axiron (alcohol based rub on) every day. I felt a bit of a jolt the first day; then nothing for about 3 weeks. After 3 months it feels that I have plateaued. I am ready to switch to Test C, which my insurance will pay for (my cost would be $1.56/month); but the doctor won't prescribe injectable.

Rogue, Welcome to Excelmale. If you start a new thread you will probably generate some good suggestions as to how you might approach your doctor regarding a switch to injections. Topicals simply don't work for many of us (hey didn't for me). If you aren't seeing symptom improvement, supported by lab work, after three months it's time to make a change.
