Animal study: CLA + endurance training = more testosterone

Gene,
Thanks for the link on this. I've heard of CLA but never new exactly what it was and now my interest has really been piqued! I just read several reviews from different nutrition and supplement stores and it's getting rave reviews regarding fat lose but getting negative reviews because the size of the pill (they all seem to be gel caps) is extremely hard to swallow. This is a real issue for me as I've almost choked to death on some of the pills and vitamins (Animal Pak vitamins... THE WORST!) I've had to take. So, can you tell me what brand you take, how much you take and give me an idea of the size of the pill? Thanks for your help!

I am an admitted supplement junkie so pills have never been a problem for me.

Yes, like Fish Oil pills, CLA is a large gell cap.

I find taking one at a time with a large mouthful of water can help get them down easier.

I like Vitamin Shopp products and take 2000 mg three times daily.

CLA has contradictory but promising data.

"CLA has been investigated to be a fat burner and health promoting agent due to its effect on a molecular signalling system called PPAR which is related to fat burning, steroid signalling, inflammation, and glucose/lipid metabolism. However, human studies on CLA are very unreliable and the overall effects seen with CLA are not overly potent as well as sometimes contradicting. CLA is a good research standard to investigated fatty acids and the PPAR system, but its usage as a supplement for personal goals is quite lacklustre." http://examine.com/supplements/Conjugated+Linoleic+Acid/
